It is possible to reduce the cost of the outsourcing by allowing certain unused pictures to go to the photographer for their own purposes and uses. This is often a risky idea, and should only be considered if the images are not unique enough to easily be identifiable later. A more common and relevant issue is the identification, and communication of exactly what is needed for a given project, or photo-shoot. If the photographer is being given creative license then the scope of the shoot, or images needed needs to be established upfront in great detail. This means that the company outsourcing must be critically aware of what they want, and able to work with a photographer for a shared, and applicable vision.
Hamza Mohammad Andy Varbel English 908 5/1/2012 True Beauty and Pop Culture There are many things in this world that can affect the way we act or think and pop culture is definitely one of these things. In the article “Pop Culture Is Destroying True Beauty” by Rachel Drevno, she explains how pop culture and the media is something that gets people to believe that there is a certain standard of beauty. That beauty that Drevno is talking about is all of the celebrities and people on the cover of magazines and so forth. She thinks people are trying to get themselves in the standard that pop culture wants when Drevno believes true Beauty is not what other people want you to look but rather everyone is beautiful in their own way. I do agree with Drevno in this article.
The Media and its Effect In Our Lives. Although Virginial L. Blom and Sharlene Nagy Hasse-Biber approach the same issue body image, among teenagers and adults worldwide each author identifies a different connection between the media and Bulimia Nervosa worldwide. In her essay “Love my neighbors, hate myself: the vicissitudes of affect in cosmetic surgery.” Bloom explores how plastic surgery has changed through the years. She mentions how plastic surgery wasn’t practiced unless it was a critical and necessary procedure. Today, plastic surgery has become in high demand among males and females, teenagers in order to look their physically best.
I strongly agree with Friedman’s argument because in today’s generation anything you do or say online now could be used against you, and as a representative of this generation; I care! The advancement of technology is leading the world transparent. Now that everyone has the ability to take a picture, video, or have their own blog we’ve turn into publishers. This has caused fear in myself as well as others, were afraid to act or say something without being embarrassed then published to the whole world. For example Freidman’s personal experienced three years ago; he encountered a lady on the line when buying magazines at the cashier even though he was there first the lady claimed to be there before him.
Firstly, Brown uses expert opinion. He quotes D Lum from the Maroondah hospital and the shocking fact that young children, whilst drunk are being sexually assaulted. This would position his readers, mostly parents to see the dark side of alcohol and teenagers as no parent would want for their teenage child to be sexually assaulted. Secondly he uses statistics. Brown highlights the 300% increase in hospital admissions of drunken teenagers.
Lobbyists could be used to get voters demands to Congress after elections, but now most lobbyists are paid by large corruptions to influence lawmakers. A great example of their influence is the recently introduced bill, called SOPA. It was aimed to make major reforms to Internet piracy. They proposed to accomplish this by censoring any site that had been accused of copyright infringement. Any site with user generated content; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and many more could quickly be blocked.
A year ago, the government estimated 4.1 million Americans were using marijuana. Imagine that number doubling or even tripling. Legalization of the drug will throw our country into a state of turmoil because if no law exists to keep one from using a drug, then more and more of the drug will be used. Making pot readily available to the public for recreational use will greatly affect the future of America for we are poisoning the fresh minds of our youth. Children will begin using at a younger age; therefore, the physical and mental effects will be significantly increased.
“More than 1,700 college students in the U.S. are killed each year—about 4.65 a day—as a result of alcohol-related injuries” (The Marin Institute). With a number as high as this, lowering the drinking age would only increase this ongoing problem of underage drinking. It has even been proven by the Marin Institute to be the leading cause of death among teenagers. Many adults feel as if the 18 to 21 age groups cannot handle drinking responsibly, then they should not be permitted to use it. Alcohol is a very serious depressant and one of the leading problems for death (Hanson, 2007).
“Youth and Gun Violence” Medical Terminology Youth and Gun Violence Violence, when will it stop? This question is asked by many parents and even youth across America. Violence with youth has spread across the states as if it were a contagious deadly virus only on a mission to take out children. It has caused fear and anger in many families and has risen in statistics rather than declined over the years. Children that are living in the poverty neighborhoods tend to see more violence than those that are living in the upper, middle class neighborhoods.
Lowering the drinking age would increase the teen alcohol related car crashes each year. People like to think if you can serve in the war and risk your life you should be old enough to drink. Or since Europeans let their children drink, our American children should be allowed to drink as well. What most people don’t know
