The history of the towers all began when a Argentine- American architect Cesar Pelli, had a idea to create the Petronas towers. The towers were completed in 1998 and became the tallest building in the world. Until the Taipei and Sear tower buildings were built. The Towers were built on the site of Kuala Lumpur's race track. Because of the depth of the bedrocks, they were built on the world's deepest foundation. The 120-meters foundations required massive amounts of concrete, by Bachy Soletanche.The main material used to construct the towers was "Reinforced Concrete."The towers use glass facade that was a designed to resemble Islamic art motifs.And there were 32,000 windows. Each tower has 10 escalators in each building. Also the sky-bridge of Petronas Twin Towers is at 41st and 42nd level and is 58.4m(192ft)long. It weighs 750 tons.The Petronas Twin Towers also include an art gallery, an 840-seat concert hall, and an underground parking lot. Also theres a shopping mall name Suria KLCC, and Dewan Filharmoik Petronas, the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.Tower one is fully occupoed by Petronas and a number of its subsidiaries and associate companies. Tower Two is fully office spaces that are mostly available for lease to other companies. A number of companies have office in Tower Two, including Microsoft, IBM, and TCS. The Suria KLCC is one of the largest shopping malls in Malaysia. The KLCC park with jogging and walking paths, a fountain with incorpoates light show, wading pools and a children playground.The Skybrige acts as a safety device, so that in the event of a emergency in one tower, tenants can evacuate by crossing the skybrige to the other tower.
