He tries to prove how animal testing affects animals, but the evidence that he gives us was some kind of violence and lacking police protection. These evidences do not match with the idea that he tells us that “lacking adequate police protection, fearing for the lives of their employees… bringing it to the brink of bankruptcy”. I feel that the writer uses red herring. He keeps bring up criminal issue instead of talking about how animal testing effects on animals. Moreover, the writer gives evidence that I feel it does not make sense “the crime against Huntington are not isolated incidents; animal rights terrorists commit more than 1,000 crimes annually”.
Her opinion piece, titled With training and love, they are devoted pets, is directed at those who fear pit bull terriers. She argues that the restrictions on pit bull terriers are both unnecessary and unfair. Pelen uses emotive language and imagery to tug at the reader’s heart strings and convince them of the dangers posed by pit bull terriers. She uses phrases such as ‘tragic death’, ‘senseless and needless’ and ‘viciously attacked’ to help the reader to visualise the attack. She uses an anecdote detailing a dog attack on her own family to establish her credibility and knowledge of the issue.
Dogs make great companions; they are loyal, loving, and friendly family pets. The domesticity of dogs has long started since the Egyptian civilization. Anubis, the God associated with resurrection, had a head of a dog. That is why the Egyptians see dogs as gods – they worship and praise them. The Egyptians also keep them as pets and give them ample of love.
Many people look at pets as another chore, when they are actually very good at being a best friend, confidante that understands all of life’s problems, and the best motivation in keeping healthy. Pets can also keep children active, promote responsibility, and help with socialization problems that are becoming more prominent in today’s society. With a pet adoption a person gains more than just an animal, the community at large is also helped by opening another kennel in the animal shelter for another loving animal. Becoming active in the community is just that simple, but there are other ways to promote animal welfare and overpopulation that affects so many areas of the world. Research has shown that adopting a pet is a great way to improve mental and physical health, promote family values, and become active in the community by rescuing an unwanted or stray animal.
In many areas, the wolves are nearly gone because they were killed by humans. Wolf recovery programs are reintroducing wolves to remote forests and many people such as ranchers are unhappy about these wolves. They say that the wolves will kill their cattle and sheep while others see the reintroduction as important in reestablishing a balance in nature. Dog history is as rich and varied as the dog breeds themselves. Research about their history indicates that all dogs originated from ancestral wolves, but careful breeding has created dozens of distinct breeds that highlight desired characteristics.
It takes a true person to look past the horror and terror of the monster Grendel. This shows that our society is quick to judge things that they are unfamiliar with. Grendel is a horrifying monster, but acts like this because that is where he comes from. He receives no love and attention from the human society in which he wants to be a part of, so his actions are taken out on that, depicting him as a savage beast. If our society wasn’t so quick to judge from the outside appearance, maybe they would see a lost, lonely creature, just craving and searching for a way to fit
PETA also attacked McDonalds for the same reason in hope that their powerful image throughout the world would influence the farms and slaughterhouses to change their ways. Instead of attacking the source, they attack the companies that buy from them to try to embarrass them and ruin their reputation. These independent companies that sell chicken as well as other meats make a small profit when all is said and done. The way that these companies can make a profit is by trying to make themselves as efficient as possible, which can cause them to treat animals poorly. These corporations are out of the public view and are largely anonymous, which makes it difficult to target.
In this essay, I will look at some of the ways that dogs are used to assist humans other than being a simple family pet. After reading “The Dog Delusion” by April Pedersen, I chose to show how Service dogs could be a wonderful asset for someone with a disability, but it is always good to go into anything with your eyes open from the beginning. Many factors come into play with the use of a service dog. These dogs can be a lifesaving partner, but they come with needs and can change every aspect of your life. A service dog can do many tasks, depending on the person's disability.
Dogs are friendly, loyal house pets. They are intelligent so they can provide services to people, such as working with police officers at airports searching bags for bombs and illegal drugs. Moreover, dogs can assist firefighters by sniffing out people trapped under rubble or those hidden behind flames of a fire. Dogs work as guards protecting families and their most valuable belongings. Many disabled people live with trained dogs.
