If school’s implemented this program of birth control, in the form of condoms, being available at their buildings, they would be able to have the condoms available with the school nurse or counselor. By having it in the hands of these two people they will be able to keep the information confidential, while monitoring the safety of the students. This availability would go hand in hand with the information they would be taught in the curriculum and can help the students practice safe sex. Providing free birth control to girls can prevent unwanted pregnancies and essentially require less abortions. These parents would have to inform the students how sex occurs, what happens, and protection methods to use. If a parent wanted to teach this information at home it would bring them a lot of responsibility and for some of them it could be awkward. Additionally, a parent who did not teach their children or push them towards abstinence would be responsible for providing the child with the necessary forms of birth control. A select group of parents would not think they need to provide birth control to their children as their kids would not be sexually active. The problem that arises with this is that their kids could try to be rebellious to their parents’ rules and be sexually active. Due to these factors, it shows that the pros outweighs the cons and it would be beneficial to have mandatory sex education classes in middle schools and high schools. By educating the students, we can reduce the amount of unexpected pregnancies and lower the rate of sexually transmitted diseases. Additionally, there are medical benefits reaped from the birth control pill that can make a major impact on someone’s life. For these reasons, it is important to support sex education in the high school
