Do they think that the criminals are going to give up their firearms just because it’s “illegal” to possess them? If current gun control laws put forth by this administration were enacted, law abiding citizens would be the only unarmed population in this country. This would work out well for the criminals who want to take our wallet of rob your home. We as a people need to stand up and let our politicians know that we are more protected when we are allowed to protect ourselves. If the aim of our government is to protect our schools, then why not post an armed serviceman at ever school.
Nation’s Safety Gun control has remained an issue for several decades in U.S. It is legal for U.S citizens to possess weapons for their safety. People can protect themselves from robbers or killers if they are attacked, but the same weapons can also be used for assault instead of defense. Twenty-six U.S citizens died in Newton, Connecticut, because of a lack of gun control. Even though the U.S constitution in the second amendment has given the right to citizens to possess weapons, gun control laws should be strengthened to stop the supply of weapons to the wrong hands such as feral criminals, mentally ill people or children to avoid violent incidents, bloodshed and loss of several precious lives.
Only the illegalisation of the guns will make people acknowledge that these objects are harmful. In America owning a gun is considered a human right but people without guns also have a right to feel safe. This right is taken away from them when they experience school shooting or other crimes involving arms. Tens of lives wasted, a striking experience for the children that witness the carnage. All this and yet there is no response to the illegalisation of guns.
Originally designed for combat in war, should these outrageously high-powered machines be made available to anyone who can afford them? Looking back on all of the horrific events of the last ten years with all of the public school shootings, university shootings, and assassination attempts, the numbers are terrifying. So many lives have been lost to crazy criminals coming into schools and shooting innocent children. People who get access to these high-powered guns are a liability to the rest of Americans. The parents of Sandy Hook Elementary School were not thinking anything horrific would happen to their children when they dropped them off that morning.
What we are asking for is more background checks and more laws to make it harder for guns to end up in the wrong hands and the people that want to cause harm to others. One key item that studies have found that gun control laws affect the use of specific guns in violent crimes, but do not affect the crime rate itself. This is true to some extent, and what we want is mass shootings to end. This will not stop criminals and mentally ill people from buying guns on the streets. Yes, true but if we gun owners are responsible gun owner, and we do the right thing we can stop guns from reaching the streets.
Why would a criminal follow gun control laws if he or she is already going to break the law to commit a crime? The gun control laws will be only hurting the law abiding citizens that enjoy using their gun rights for sport such as hunting. Gun control laws will be only taking away a form of protection that some people desperately need. Gun Control laws will only tear this country more apart and create more conflict between Democrats and Republicans. The United States Government needs to allow citizens to keep their rights and protection and live the way Americans have lived for the past two hundred
Gun Control Analysis Essay Gun control have been on the forefronts of debate since the 1960’s when there were some high profile shootings. The increase of gun violence since the 1980’s has just increased the argument over who should be allowed to own and carry weapons. The Second Amendment is the biggest stumbling block in this debate because people interpreted it differently. The one side argues that it states that we have the right to bear arms, but the other side says that it doesn’t pertain to us anymore in the modern era. Politicians love to use the idea that removing legal guns will drastically reduce suicides, asassinations, gang-violence, school shootings, accidental child deaths, and general murders.
Mrs. Milligan Economics 4/21/13 This article is about the shooting in an elementary school in Newton, Connecticut. The shooter killed twenty-seven people, twenty of them children. Ages varied from five to ten years old. Because of this shooting, President Barack Obama, stated, “We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.” President Obama is trying to take away guns from the people and he believes only the military should have assault rifles and machine guns. I understand why he feels the need to take away the guns but it may not be the best option.
(Goldberg, 2012) But will that ensure that crime rates really would go down? It is pretty hard to believe that the criminals would just suddenly stop using guns just because the government would not allow them to. The truth is most of these criminals are smart, smart enough to not get caught, and with the gun control law the criminals would know that we civilians are less
If there were stricter gun laws in place how are people suppose to feel safe in their homes. Criminals are called criminals for a reason they do not live their life with respect to laws, they always find a loop hole to get what they want. “Gun free zones do little to protect law-abiding citizens, law abiding citizens do not carry guns in these areas, but criminals do; this will only make soft targets for criminals and increase the chance of violent crimes” (2010). Everyone has a constitutional right to bear arms, and legislation will only be taking away the rights of people to protect themselves. Everything can be posed as a threat not just gun, “In 2013 there have been killing sprees with knives and bombs at the Boston Marathon; three people were killed and 264 were injured when the Tsarnaev brothers set two bombs and a student in Houston
