Though some may disagree on this point, the fact is that legalized abortion is the only option that will protect the lives of American citizens. One only needs to look into American history to see the results of prohibiting abortions to women. The process of abortions has definitely come a long way. Even after abortion was legalized, women were still very afraid to go to the abortion facilities because they were afraid of being attached just for entering the building. It is better now that they have a place to go where abortions can be performed cleanly and with minimal risk.
Abortion: Pro-Choice or No-Choice “No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg” (Think Exist, pg 3). Women should be able to have a choice. Abortions give women this choice, so there should be no reason to ever make abortions illegal. Pro-abortion is the belief in the right to choose to terminate a fetus.
On the other hand some people argued that late-term abortion should not be banned because it is necessary to terminate a fetus when the life of the woman is in danger as a result of complicated pregnancy; or when pregnancy result from incest or rape and the woman may be late in finding out that she is pregnant. Throught time women have never had the full right to do as they please. Pro-Choice is a movement that gives a woman control of her own body. Many women have serious or life-threatening medical issues in pregnancy. There can also be many personal reasons women choose to have an abortion. Women should always have the right to choose what to do with their own bodies.
If we are sincerely committed to equality then the answer must be no. Demanding that she have the surgery would entail us to say that you have to give up your body to your unborn child. It is unacceptable to force a pregnant woman to undergo treatment. It is her fundamental right of freedom of choice and control over her own body and life. In fact if we force this woman to have the surgery it could compromise the sanctity of a woman’s body.
Women who chose to have control over their bodies should then exercise proper contraceptive practices or also partake in abstinence. The idealogical stance being that if you are not able or willing to support a child, then refraining from having sexual intercourse is absolutely necessary. Abortion Abortion is one of the biggest controversial issues in the U.S. ever since the roe vs. wade decision in 1973. This legalized that a woman could chose to abort her baby in the earlier months of pregnancy without restriction until the baby had reached a certain stage of growth. It passed because mothers were experiencing painful side effects or having bad health from being pregnant. Women were having abortions at first because they thought abortion was the only way out. Those women who are considering abortion because of personal issues should choose adoption instead.
In today’s world, abortion is a very controversial topic that has caused many disagreements within society. Abortion has been legal for almost forty years now but people still protest and oppose this law. Abortion was made legal to give women the right that they deserve. As citizens of the United States, women are given many rights and freedoms just like everyone else and one these should be the freedom to have an abortion. Many people believe it is cruel, merciless, and inhumane, but every woman should have the choice and right to have an abortion if she pleases.

I feel that by not making abortion legal you are controlling someone’s rights to their own body. Many women that want to have an abortion have emotional and personal reasons behind it. Some women choose to have their babies even though they didn’t want to but I believe that those kids have a high chance of growing up feeling unloved by their mother. I believe that every single person that is born into this world should have the rights to their own body.
This brings up the fact that people only get abortions where it is only beneficial to themselves or that friends or family don’t want to have the child depending on if the woman is not ready for parenthood or whether she was accidently impregnated. It is also reported that it is a burden for doctors to do abortions themselves. Natural Law is seen and interpreted in different ways by different people in various situations.
