I will also discuss modalities, or the process that occurs when the brain receives information from our senses and how this represents itself internally. The senses I will be discussing for this essay are sight, hearing, smell and taste. The reason I am discussing modalities in relation to the effectiveness of a personalised induction is because I believe that it is part of the assessment process between therapist and client to ascertain which modality each individual feels most comfortable with. Further to this I will also discuss both the permissive and the authoritarian styles of hypnotic induction. This will include my belief that each person deserves to have a careful assessment or initial consultation from therapist to client and after careful consideration of the clients needs and preferences that the most appropriate screed would be used to benefit the client.

Reflection on Placement 1a This is a reflective essay in relation to an incident which occurred during my first ward placement. Person Centred Therapy was developed in the 1940’s by Carl Rogers. The theory views the client as being the best equipped to understand their own experience and the actualizing tendency is the intrinsic capacity of all humans to fulfill their potential. The assumption is that all of us have a desire to be more than we are and the belief is that in order to achieve our fullest potential requires certain favourable conditions, these conditions are known as the three Core Conditions, Congruence, Unconditional Positive Regard and Empathy. Congruence or ‘genuiness’, the counsellor endeavors to be in relationship with he client, being in touch with her own feelings and to be sincere. The belief is that to the extent that the counsellor is congruent in the relationship, the client will feel free to express their feelings to a greater degree and gain more accurate perceptions of himself and others and also to notice the incongruence in their self concept and their actual experience.
In my opinion, it is also essential to have a sense of humility and I truly strive to always remain humble. When people let you into their lives and emotions, they can often put you on a pedestal because of what they are going through. In these interactions, I feel that it is very critical to remember
