The Lakers in bounded the ball, and the ball was quickly thrown to Fisher. He caught the ball, and in a blink of an eye the ball was in the air traveling towards the basket. The whole world was slowed down and watched the ball go in the air. Then the buzzer sounded and all you heard was a clean swish. The Lakers had won the game and the that was the time I started to believe in impossible is
We had chance, after chance, after chance and nothing was going in. The time was running out and our dreams were slipping through our fingers. Until with five minutes left they fouled our best midfielder, who got midfielder of the year and was my brother, about thirty yards from goal. My brother hurried to the ball, we needed as many chances as we could get because time was against us. He judged his angle and determined where he would place the ball.
He then goes on openly explaining all the rules to Blitzball. At one point Finny even makes up a rule for Leper, one of his friends, so that he could be able to continue to play. Finny’s fun and open attitude displays his laid-back personality. Their clashing personalities and their attitude to Blitzball greatly impact the pivotal event at the end of chapter four. Gene feels as if Finny is able to win at everything, however, when he jounced the limb he felt like he controlled what Finny was able to
Who can forget Kerri Strug's courageous contribution to the U.S. gymnastics team's gold medal performance in the Atlanta Olympic Games? Or Sammy Sosa embracing Mark McGwire during their nailbiting battle for baseball's home-run record? Nobody likes a hockey player who hogs the puck the entire game, or a basketball player who takes a wild shot at the basket instead of passing to a teammate. But a reassuring pat on the back to a hitter who strikes out, or a compliment to a quarterback who makes a great pass that doesn't result in a touchdown, cements team spirit and spurs players on to do their best. Sportsmanship means winning without gloating, losing without complaining, and treating your opponents, coaches, and the officials with respect.
All twelve of the best crews from all over the world perform today. This will be just like the preliminary rounds except this time, the stadium is packed with fans and spectators, and one crew will be crowned champion. Considering we come from Northern Virginia and being the unknown underdog of Worlds, we don’t have fans in Orlando. It is a scary feeling as we hear the fans cheer for their favorite crew. While we were backstage, the rumbling chants of the crowd cause the floor beneath me to shake.
When we entered the stadium to play we were a little early so we got some water and started getting each other excited to play. Then it was time, we went onto the field screaming and hollering like maniacs. When the first team came out to play we were ready to play some defense. They ran to the left, and then the right and then down the middle, no matter where they went we stopped them we had them locked out, there was no way they could score. By the end of their twenty plays, Rosemont had scored one touchdown, we were ecstatic.
A few plays later, the Houston quarterback threw an interception for a touchdown. I was excited because the Colts were making a comeback. The score was now 28-20. Houston started to get on fire, but the running back fumbled the ball near their end zone. The Colts got the ball back and the fans started to boo their team as they left the stadium.
They had a home field advantage with all the enthusiastic fans that actually watches JV games. Logically anyone with a brain would have bet their life savings against us. How would anyone a team that is missing their starting goalie and starting lines do well against a team that has already beat them with all the players. The game started like all the other games. Their middi gets the ball and sets up their play.
I tapped the ball in to the backcourt and raced down to the other basket, trying to beat the older guy who was late getting back on the previous play. I knew it was going to be a hard lay-up with contact, but for some reason I didn’t care that the court was covered with some gravel and some sand. When you have a true passion for something, you get immersed in the moment some times and strive to perform to the best of your ability at all times. As I jumped up for the layup, I received the contact that I was expecting, and was forced down awkwardly on the slippery outdoor court and tore my Anterior Crucial Ligament and my Meniscus. It was by far the worst pain I have ever had at that point in my life.
Gilchrest decided they would play one on one with fully pumped volley balls. Three hits and you were out. No catch- outs. At first I felt like this was a set up for Clint because he was an African American kid and, everyone knew Oakley didn’t like African Americans. Clint ended up busting Oakley’s nose accidently.
