For much of the 1990’s, I was the sole owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have long been renowned for being one of the most famous franchises in all of baseball, if not all of sports. Originally from Brooklyn, they employed Jackie Robinson to break the color barrier, as well as countless other all stars and hall of fame players. Also, with Los Angeles playing in the biggest city in the most populated state in the country, the baseball team I owned had a larger viewing audience on a daily basis that any other team in American sports. The biggest reason that I am the most influential, however, is my endless array of media outlets.
The Cubs were always positive, even when they blew a seven run lead in the 2003 national league division series, even when they lost the 1946 World Series in heartbreaking fashion on Jack Spinner’s walk off home run in game 7 against the Brewers, even when the team’s slugger Sammy Sosa was found guilty of steroid usage and was suspended, the Cubs and their fans still remained contended, even optimistic about their team’s chances to win the Central and go to the playoffs. How do they stand it? They must have some serious grit to watch the Cubs, who play like little leaguers every day of the long, exhausting season. Maybe the optimism that they had made them not just the lovable losers, but the likable losers. Yes, they’re likable, but fans, they’re still losers.
I could only imagine how much harder it would be if my mother had another child who was also involved with sports and clubs. I honor women like my mother and Morrison because they don’t let life get them down when it gets tough, they own up to life and do what is necessary. II. Biographical Information On February 18, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio, Ramah Willis and George Wofford gave birth to their second daughter, Chloe Anthony Wofford (Blashfield 19). Her father George was a shipyard welder.
Everyone in the town knew she was my sister, I knew so many people through my father and the Hob. It would be hard to believe that anyone there didn’t feel at least something for her. Everyone liked something about Prim; I know what they were really thinking though. I know because I think it every year; thank god, it’s not me, it’s not my name, I will live another year, well at least I won’t die from the games. Hunger is still a problem.
Ever since the day I was born, my grandmother has been like a second mother to me. Giving a hand in raising me, she treated me like I was her own. I’ve pretty much lived with her my whole life and she has been there for me my whole life. She is one of the most important people in my life, I look up to her and look to her for guidance when I need it the most because I know she cares and she would give me the best advice. She is the most caring and giving woman you could ever meet.
My family raised me to be a strong and good person and I love them so much, especially my mom. My mom has been my best friend ever since the day I was born. I would hate to lose her. Without her, I don’t know what I’d do since she's the one who brought me into this world. Also, my dad has always been there to help me make tough decisions and I love him a lot.
My mother is a very strong, independent, and religious woman, and she has taught me to become the woman I am today. My mother is a very strong and independent woman. She is also beautiful, kind hearted, and hardworking. My mother raised me and my four siblings by herself. She had to work two jobs to support her family.
Or, if she gave me money, she would give my brothers and sisters money too. It was real hard for her and I watched her struggle just about everyday for half of my life. Although she could not do very much for us, she made the best of what we had and gave us the best life possible. I really appreciate the man I have grown to become and owe thanks to my dear mother. I thought that we would never overcome our obstacles, but we kept on praying and asking God for better and he showed up.
“Living alone and impotent in an inimical world.” The person I choose to reflect my theory on is Shantay Fields. She is not my biological sister, but my mother has raised her since she was a baby and my mother is all she knew. So, I consider her being my biological sister since my mother raised her. I chose Shantay above others because she is an outstanding single mother to a smart, wonderful, and bright sixteen year old daughter by the name of Tatyana Fields. She had her daughter at a young age and with no help from her father, she did it all by herself.
The Average Life of a Typical Mother “Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too. Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality especially while you struggle to keep your own” (Kelly xiii). I never fully understood the troubles of motherhood until I came one myself. Long nights, early mornings and sporadic tantrums have completely enveloped every aspect of my life. Married at 19 and married with child at 21 had definitely given me the strong push into the real world.
