I saw things I couldn’t believe adults would do. I came to the conclusion that there are three different types of softball players; the soon to be pro athlete, the forty year old teenager, and the family guy. The type of people I saw most playing at the softball fields were the “soon to be pro athlete.” These were the ones that would show up in their top notch expensive uniforms for a game of underhand slow pitch softball. They would have ten different types of bats as if there were ten different kinds of pitches. They showed up an hour early to warm up and take batting practice as if it is needed for middle aged slow pitch softball.
Mental toughness A. Push harder B. Push longer C. Pay off Conclusion Whitlock 1 How to Become a Better Baseball Player Playing baseball can give you many opportunities. It can help you meet new people and make new friends. Baseball can make you stronger, mentally strong, and can get you in great physical shape.
Now I play very competitively with 12 of my great friends that I have come to know very well and love like family. We protect each other, teach each other, and make each other better at the sport every time we play. Even strangers can help you progress just by giving you even the slightest little clue to how to play or fix a problem you have been having. Almost all of the knowledge and skill that I have gained was told to me, bit-by-bit, by random paintballers that felt the need to help. Every year, there are multiple events played in many different leagues all across the world NPPL, PSP, Millennium...
Our coaching staff’s oriented philosophy is to provide these girl’s a supportive atmosphere and the necessary environment to provide an opportunity to develop not only as softball players playing at this high level, thus receiving scholarships and bringing honor to their community but also as citizens that would make you and/or your company proud. In order to achieve their aspirations, funding support is extremely necessary. The Carolina Elite Girls Fastpitch organization is a self-supporting non-profit organization that requires outside support to defray the costs of facilities, equipment, entry fees and travel.
I contributed patience to the team because when I could not get a dance down I did not give up. I just kept trying over and over again. This showed the girls how to deal with tough situations. Also, the girls loved my personality because I helped them do whatever was needed to prepare us for games. I did not know much about the sport when I first joined the squad because it was my first year cheering, so; therefore I contributed to the team by being a new member with my own new and unique style.
Baseball is a sport that has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a young boy. I’ve been playing baseball for many years, I started playing T-Ball when I was five years old and that sparked my interest for the game of baseball. My first year of baseball my dad was my coach and really pushed me to be the greatest player I could be, because of my dads encouragement I progressed extremely fast and my skill level was far above other kids of my age. So my dad had than placed me in a league with seven and eight year old, in this league baseball became serious. I had to prove my skills to my new coaches because I was smaller than the rest of the kids and didn’t have the same knowledge or experience they did.
Literacy Autobiography Lauren Sachs English 101 Mr. Bell September 6, 2012 Ever since I was a little girl, I had always stared at people with special needs. It was something about their facial features, the way they walked and just overall how different they were. I would comment on their behavior as well as the way they talked. It wasn’t until my senior year in High School that I enrolled in a class called Peer Mentoring. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was but I had heard great things about it.
I always make sure that other people’s highest priority needs are being served. Acceptance is the key to being a successful leader in a group; one must never reject and always accentuate. On the other hand, there was only one time throughout high school that I was chosen as a leader. During my sophomore year, another player and I were chosen to be the Team Captains of the Junior Varsity team for softball. Even when I was chosen to be a leader, I would encourage the girls to finish the running, drill, or anything our coach asked us to do.
This class has reinforced my belief, and it is great to see the meaning of sports being taught to others. Each class brought me back to the days when I first learned the sport, and how excited I was to play. Sports have always and will always be a part of my life. My first baseball game was at 17 days old. I played soccer, basketball, and baseball for years, but I soon found my passion on the diamond.
