Anthony Ojeda 5-20-13 Personal Narrative ( Boot Camp Graduation Day) The personal narrative, I have chosen to write about is my boot camp, graduation day, I was twenty three years old, when I joined the Air Force, and I was young adult ready for a life change in my life. I joined the Air Force, to become a stronger, disciplined and a courageous person, but I also joined the service, so I could serve my country and go to school. I wanted to find myself not as a boy, but as a man. This would be the most memorable day of my life. This is the day I graduate Air Force boot camp. It was a cool Friday morning, approximately 7 am, on November 3rd 2006. The sun was out and the wind had a nice cool breezy to it, It was a amazing weather. Me and my fellow graduates were dressed in one of the military’s most beautiful ceremonial uniforms. Our Dress blues. The uniform had so many beautiful characteristics. My uniform was decorated with ribbons, names tag and, I also had some beautiful gold shiny medals that I felt like you could see them from outer space. You knew when you wear this uniform; you wear it with great pride and honor. We were standing at the end of the parade ground in a formation waiting for the music to begin playing. We were to march past the bleachers filled with our closest families and friends. I can remember us standing there anticipating the piercing sounds from the drums. I can smell the starch on our freshly blues uniform. I seemed to tune out the distant cheering of the spectators, and I watch my fellow soldiers trying so hard not to cry and be distracted with their emotions from seeing there family and friends in the bleachers. I was told to never show weakness by crying or smiling and that crying and smiling is for the weak. I never cried through basic training or smiled, because I was so strong. But, today is
