Personal Legends What is a personal Legend? What actually is a person’s Personal Legend? How would someone even go about starting his or her Personal Legend? Are you afraid to die without knowing or accomplishing your purpose here on earth? If you’ve read the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, you probably are thinking of similar questions that I am. I’ve always wanted to know my purpose and task in life, so I decided to explore “Personal Legends” a theory from the novel. In this research paper I will enlighten you of everything anybody would even want to know about Personal Legends. The process of finding your Personal Legend can be a long and confusing trail, but starting the journey now could have a new meaning of life and how you live it. A Personal Legend in this day and age is simply defined as: “ones blessing; the path God has chosen for you here on Earth”. Otherwise known as a being's reason to live. It’s a goal, a destination that we strive for throughout our lives. It defines our very reason for living, and if you make every effort to attain such a goal, all of nature and superior forces that we don't necessarily identify, join hands in helping us achieve our Personal Legend. Everything in the world has a Personal Legend, and by reaching one's Personal Legend, they add to the Soul of the World. Paulo Coelho essentially created all these ideas. Paulo was born in Rio de Janiero in 1947 and has a career as a best-selling author, theatre director, hippie, and songwriter for some of Brazil's best top pop artists. One of his books “The Alchemist” was one of the top ten international best sellers. Paulo’s work has been published in more than 100 countries and is translated into 42 different languages. He has been awarded a variety of impressive awards from several different countries. An effortless and still increasing million books have sold alone here
