His retirement, however does not spell the end of his career. Instead, like any great leader he has taken on a new challenge with a position on the Board of Directors of Invacare Corporation. The organization welcomed him and his skills with open arms as the compnay is aiming to further its hold on the international market. The company is eager to have General Jones on board because they realize that he has tremendous experience in both domestic and international strategy. His willingness to take on a new and challenging venture even after retirement proves that he is a natural born leader who is gifted at both teaching and motivating.
Aside from the class content I learned that I don’t wait for things to happen I went into this telling my group that under no circumstance could I lead this project but I found myself incapable of waiting for things to evolve on their own, I have more of a leader personality than I thought. How did the interpersonal dynamics affect your participation? If there were conflicts, how were they resolved? I am not shy and I was able to communicated with team members well, we had fun most of the time. Unfortunately we did not have a good dynamic with at least 1 team member which cause a quite a bit of delay and frustration, but we were able to side step this for the most part and push on with the objectives.
CONCLUSION Being put in a team to do assignments can be very hard for some people because they may like to work alone. But if you think about it if you work in a team you can get the work done in half the time. It won’t put a strain on you worrying how can you get the work done, knowing you have to work and do other day to day things. As long as you designate who is going to be the leader and do what the leader tells you or ask you to do, the team will be fine. Just think how exciting your paper will be with all the other ideas, they may think of things you had no idea even existed.

I am always a few tasks ahead of myself in my mind and very often don’t take the time to ask for clarification, or feedback from others to make sure they understand where I am coming from. In the two examples I provided, lack of feedback was definitely a major cause of the misunderstandings. Just a sentence or two in each case from the receiver quantifying the message could have prevented the misunderstandings from occurring. Instead, I was in a hurry to get that easy task off my to-do list and the customer service rep was probably also in a hurry to get on to her next call and her next order. That is the way life seems to be these days in business.
That is my main function within the group, to facilitate the day-to-day actions of the other members. If something needs to get done, I assign a member that task and then follow up until completion. The only draw back so far is my aggressive attitude towards mission accomplishment has caused some of the other members to recent my approach. I do not always ask for things in a nice way, I think being direct is the quickest way to get something completed. The biggest affect that it has on the group is slowing down the amount of work that was getting completed.
These simple little tasks that I ask him to do, because he is a grown man I just assumed he would understand because they are everyday household chores that need to be done. With him assuming that I wanted to be intimate anytime I asked him to do something, I actually snapped and started screaming because at first I thought he was only joking but then it kept happening each and every time I asked him to do something. One thing that I have learned since all of this has happened, even though they are simple task I am asking him to do I need to speak my words clearly and with some type of authority in my voice. It has happened a few times since I had my outburst, but when it does happen I simply say "sweetheart this is the time where we are doing chores, this is not the time for intimacy". I think he is finally getting the picture.
I also have great organization skills that allow me to get duties done in a quick manner. I am a fast-past worker, but also know how to be very patient when needed. However, I do not succeed in every task I attempt. Failure is generally assumed to be a negative word. I believe failure is essential for success because people will always learn from their mistakes.
