This is the cause of many economic issues such as decreasing job opportunities, rising costs, injustice, and crime. Border security breach for the country as a whole and in particular for the residents of the town may cause ecological imbalance by over populating the locality. It is hard to find, when an illegal immigrant commits a crime it takes much longer to sentence him. The government has created to help people that do not have the funds for things such as health care, food, and other things. The taxpayers pay for these programs.
Robber Barons People who have been considered “Captains of Industry” have also been given the title “Robber Barons”. Is there really a difference in the two? While Robber Barons have been known to take as many resources as they can from an area they are also known for giving little to those who help them become rich. Often times they come in with flowing promises of better homes and cleaner cities to entice workers to live there. However, many workers find that does not happen.
Research Project Why We Should Educate Children of Illegal Immigrants There are many people in the United States who disagree against the law to educate children of illegal immigrants due to the high expenses spend annually and while it is coming from the taxes paid by the citizens. I concede that it may cost a fortune to educate those children of illegal immigrants by using our tax payments. However, I would argue that those children should have a right to be educated due to many reasons; they can contribute to the society, keep peace within the community, and increase growth of the economy. One of the points how children of illegal immigrants can be supportive for the society is by staying away from gangs’ organization when they are kept in school. As Clark Kirby, a Texas State Director in “Educating Illegal Aliens in Texas” points out, there are many arguments between those Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court if children of illegal immigrants should have educational rights because it would cost up to $5,000 per year per student.
Low-income individuals and families must spend money on the same necessities required by higher-income people (Meehan). However, after the necessities are purchased, the poorer taxpayers, because they earn less, will have less money left over to pay taxes, at the same rate as those earning higher income amounts (Meehan). Implementing a flat tax system could dismantle the IRS (Meehan). Many view the IRS as an imposing, intimidating arm of government; however, this institution employs numerous people who were trained to work in the tax industry. IRS employees would most likely lose their jobs under a flat tax system (Meehan).
Also, when employees are laid off there is less income tax to be collected and to make things even worse, former employees can collect unemployment benefits from the government. These unemployment benefits cost the government money. Massive layoffs of employees are one of the worst setbacks an economy can
People with visa’s and U.S. Citizens pay taxes on what they earn, which helps the economy. People who are not authorized to be in the country are not paying taxes on their earnings, which hurts the economy. Lastly, the employees that were let go were engaging in lawful union organizing activities. Even though they were engaging in legal activities, they can’t be reinstated or
As shown in Source E, the people with more income are for getting rid of the penny, while the more poor people are against the abolishment. This is probably because the more upper class people do not have to pay for simple things with the pennies they find on the streets. Poorer people who make less than $25,000 a year obviously don’t have good jobs, probably not full coverage health insurance, and a lot of the time, have more children to take care of. Due to the insurance they have, their prescriptions and doctor co pays are very expensive. Penny pinching may be these deprived people’s only option in paying bills.
Some of this money is used to make pennies. However, the cost to make a penny has risen over past years. As of now, it takes more money to make a penny than the penny is actually worth. This seems like a waste of money when 2/3 of pennies immediately drop out of circulation (Source C). The money being used to make pennies could be made for other, more useful, things such as buying supplies for schools or helping the homeless.
However, illegal immigrants are subject to institutional and societal prejudice for several reasons. First of all, they are perceived as taking jobs from citizens, as well as making use of educational and health services for which many people and the media accuse them of not paying taxes (although, as mentioned, they do). Davidson asserts that, “Illegal immigrants use very little in the way of public programs and contribute to economic microcosms through sales taxes received by local municipalities. If we were to legalize all workers, we could then pull from their income taxes as well. Problem solved.”(Davidson).
Voter Id laws are put into place so to insure registered voters are voting. Now days at most places you have to show your id to use your credit card, so I would think everyone would have one. Critics of voter id laws are saying it cost money for low income peonnie1ple to obtain proper Id, due to their lack of ability to get transportation, or the cost of the identification. In my opinion that’s a joke; if you can’t get to the id office; how would you get to the polls? I do wonder how a person can’t be responsible enough to get a free Id but expect to vote on things that affect everyone.
