B. Tie to the Audience – Choosing a job that is going to fulfill personal goals in life is not only complicated and confusing, but rewarding when accomplished.

C. Credentials – I am able to present this information today because I have done extensive research on Pediatric Nursing.

D. Purpose – The purpose of my speech is to inform you about Pediatric Nursing.

E. Thesis – There are many things that is interesting about Pediatric Nursing, but I will only be talking about a few like facts on Pediatric Nursing, information on how to become a Pediatric Nurse, and the salary and benefits of Pediatric Nursing.

II. BODY A. Main Point One - First, I will be talking about some facts on Pediatric Nursing

1. According to the Nursing Program 2009, nursing is the nation’s largest health care profession, with more than 2.9 million registered nurses nationwide. Pediatric Nurses provide care to infants, children and adolescents. The spectrum of care nurses give to children varies depends on the type of nurse. Generally LPNs will work with newborns in the nursery or with older children and their duties include running blood tests, checking vital signs, administering some medications, urine and solid waste output. RNs can work in any area they choose within pediatrics. They do everything LPNs as well as hanging blood, administering pain medications and supervising LPNs. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners oversee both nurses and often give orders for what medications and care needs to happen with each and every child. 2.
