Being in Mr. Bostwicks class I’ve learned a lot. My grammar has improved. I have learned better study habits and I think I have really grown with my writing abilities. Mr. Bostwick has taught my an easier way to set up my paragraphs. One of Mr. Bostwicks many mantras he has us memorize is something I think really helps me and it goes a little something like this “ words make up phrases and clauses, phrases and clauses makes sentences, sentences makes paragraphs, and paragraphs makes composition.” Altogether I give mister Bostwick my SEAL of approval.
Thru reading I have been able to expand my vocabulary as where as my mind. I have been also able to learned about different cultures and expand my imagination. Although books have always captured my interest, my writing and grammar skills took longer to develop. I started learning English when I was four years old. My mother enrolled me in a bilingual school because she wanted a good future for me.
Though I know there are still some mistakes in my final draft I feel good about them typically. Another point in my writing that I need to focus on is, putting all my arguments into my paper. I always write down good examples or facts but, sometimes leave extra details that would enhance the body and meanings of my papers. What I do well in is going back to revise and putting the key details into my paper and making the paper stronger. Overall my experience in English 0099 has strengthened my writing capabilities.
When I came to know that I have been asked to take English remedial class, I was a bit mad at first, but then I thought that this class would make me better. I view remedial classes as practice, very much like professional athletes view training, because the best athletes practice to become better. As well, once students complete a degree with finishing the English remedial and begin seeking employment, they will find many companies emphasize good communication skills. So, It doesn’t matter if you know everything or nothing, what matters is that you benefit in every class (even if it’s a remedial). Soon, after my graduation I will be joining my dad’s business.
This is my first year in the ESL class of Essex County College. I have learned many things in my ESL 103/104 class. But there are things I`ve done well and wrong. Also I would like to evaluate this year in terms of how I improved my English skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening). Most of the things I've done well in this class.
Focusing so hard on excelling in English I was having a hard time acknowledging the basic sentence patterens staying devoted I past it. As growing up and still intrigue about learning more english, shockingly there is more that must be learn. Learning the importance of English I gained hobbies, education, and my writting technique. Over the years I have growned and I use English in my everyday life. I enjoy that I was able to learn how to comprehend the words that I was brought upon and use them to my advantage. As I got better understanding English I seem to be amired by books that keep me amazed by the knowledge that I learn from what I have read.
In this essay I am going to explain key influences on the learning process of individuals. I am doing a BTEC extended diploma in health and social care right now at college and I am enjoying it so far. I did As levels last year in applied science, media studies and communication and culture and did like the subjects which made me go off track I didn’t attend lessons and my attendance dropped poorly. However when I came to pick up my results and I didn’t get the grades that I needed I realized that I need to put my head down because I don’t want to end up doing a boring/retail job all my life. My career goal is to become a radiographer which my dad first introduced to me and I found rather interesting, but my plan B is social work.
If you’re sitting in and not at a desk — in other words, if you’re a student — good grammar pays off in different ways: with better grades and an edge in college and graduate-school admissions. Teachers have always looked favorably on well-written sentences, and grammar has become increasingly important on standardized tests. This book alerts you to material favored by the torturers — sorry, the test writers — and provides you with some exercises that help you become familiar with common testing formats. (If you’re not clutching a number 2 pencil, don’t feel left out. The skills in those exercises help you, too, by
Furthermore, I should also learn how to read fast and annotate as I read in order to do better on the sat’s. With his tutoring my sat score went up from 340 to 590 for critical reading section. I also did well on my English regents which I got a 88 on the English
It told me that I understand and remember things I have heard. I store information by the way it sounds, and I have an easier time understanding spoken instructions than written ones. And that I often learn by reading out loud because I have to hear it or speak it in order to know it. This is very true. As I read my results I realized that I did all of these things it listed.
