Dear Mommy and Daddy, I am almost seventeen years old; I think that it’s time to realize that I’m not a baby anymore and I have you to thank for this. Without your caring and supportive parenting, I would not be the responsible, intelligent teenager that I am today. On that note, I will soon have my license. This is good news for you because you won’t have to drive me around anymore! I could even run errands for you! However, I still don’t have a vehicle to drive. Without a car of my own, both of you will either have to still drive me around or be stuck at home while I have the car. It would be in your best interest to invest in adding another motor vehicle to our everyday life. If you were to let me own my own car, I wouldn’t mind taking our Honda off your hands so you can buy that brand new, shiny Mercedes you’ve been wanting. The car’s condition is superior and I intend to keep it that way. It will be in very responsible hands. I will keep the inside dusted and vacuumed and the outside as gleaming as a sparkling diamond. Besides, who wants to drive around a grimy, foul car? I sure don’t, therefore the car’s quality is not even a question. I’m not sure if I can live up to daddy’s nurturing adoration for his car, but I will do my best.…show more content…
Aren’t you weary of driving me to a friend’s house on Friday nights or picking me up from volleyball practice every day or taking me to school in the morning? With my own car, you won’t have to worry about me interfering with your day anymore. Just think how pleasant it would be. You won’t have to manage sports conflicts between my brother and me. I could pick up Alex from school, friend’s houses, or extracurricular activities. We ran out of bread? No problem!
