Compare and Contrast Could a Pakistani ever become an American or vice versa? A common misconception is that these countries are complete opposites of each other. They do differ in cultural values, and religious thought, but the youth in both countries shares similar enthusiasm for the future. Theoretically America and Pakistan are two different worlds but in reality they have more in common than one would imagine. Pakistan is a countries embedded in its culture. Whether it is the arts or its language everyone grows up with a piece of it. On the other hand America is a “nation of immigrants.” As most Pakistanis trace their lineage through Mughal dynasties and Arabian Shahs, most Americans are proud to represent their various ancestors from Europe, Asia, Africa, and almost every where else. The Pakistani people also have a lot of respect for their elders; most are afraid to defy their parents and follow the same centuries old family values. However Americans strive to be very different from each generation before them. The two countries also differentiate religiously. Pakistan is all about Islam, its flag, its people, its government all represent a branch of this religion. America is a country that separates church and state. Many religions thrive under the American umbrella. There are not many set religious holidays and no one religion dominates the whole of America. Pakistan has several religious holidays worked into its yearly calendar. Basically Pakistan is a very religious nation while America is not so much. Even though they might not share the same religious values they do have their youth in common. Youngsters are youngsters no matter where they are. Rebellion is human nature. It is often not appreciated whether it’s America or Pakistan. The youth from both these nations shares a common goal. They both want to make new innovations to
