I try to study in between my classes during my two hour breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so I don’t fall behind in my schoolwork. Lastly for this section, I plan on changing up my study habits. In grade school all the way up until senior year of high school, I made it a habit to study and do homework in front of my television. Now, that will not happen. I am only going to study and do homework while sitting in silence or while listening to instrumental music.
However, as I learn to write better I am starting to see why the author uses so many stories and many large words to get his point across. If the author did not go into detail about what he was writing about someone might not get the point that he was trying to get across. After reading Yosemite Mon Amour, numerous times I begin to have a clear understanding of why there is so much detail in the story. I felt that the essay was to long because of many stories that the author had written. At the time of first reading this story it seemed as though the author was jumping around and I had a hard time following where he was going with the story this started right from the first paragraph I had no idea why the author was describing Toyotas, and Winnebago’s and then jumping into describing rain.
In the following narrative written by Gary sotto, he uses several different literary devices. He uses these devices to effectively describe and recreate one of his experiences with guilt from when he was just a small child. Among these devices used to recreate Sotto’s past are repetition, imagery, and diction. Repetition is used several times throughout the passage of him when he was a child in order to make the more important details evident to the readers. Repetition in this passage is used a not by just repeating the same word throughout the narrative, but by also repeating certain ideas and thoughts as well.
Job Tasks and Reporting The elements of my job responsibilities that I consider appropriate for remote work include research, writing, project planning, Remedy help ticket investigation/resolution and meeting preparation. Each week I will create a status report outlining what I expect to complete on my telework days and how much time I anticipate spending on each task. At the end of my telework days I will report what I have completed to you as part of the weekly status report. I will also save the tasks that are best done without interruption for my telework days. Mine include spending an entire weekend with my computer on my lap working on that 24 page final paper for Mr. Hale's class, pausing only long enough to get another cup of coffee! We’ve all had the pleasure of waiting for hours in line to get into the bookstore on the first day of the new quarter, only to wait an hour or longer to get out of the bookstore and then pray that we make it to the first class of the day - on time! We have made lifelong friends, learned to be part of a community and had some crazy adventures. For you, some of those could have been all night study groups with too much food and way too much caffeine, those students involved in sports who had bus trips to away games or the field trips like mine to the Dayton Art Institute (for Art Appreciation) when a few students got lost or one whose car wouldn’t start afterwards. These adventures provided us with fun, stress, and new appreciation as lessons learned by life itself.
Coronado 1 Robert Coronado Instructor: Treiber English 101 October 19, 2012 College and High School It’s Monday morning and you get ready for school, you eat breakfast and you realize that your paper in due today! One might freak out and try to do it within minutes or hours to spare. This happened while attending college where I had to turn in a 6 page report and I managed to finish the paper by pulling off an “all nighter” and falling asleep on a bench in the library. Not only did I get a very low C, but I also managed to completely ruin my sleeping pattern. If I were in high school I probably would have asked the teacher for an extension and done a better job.
