Even more importantly, customers are starting to expect higher levels of reliability, responsiveness, convenience and speed-speed in terms of both the time taken visiting the website and in delivery of items once the order is placed. Taken together, these are heavy demands on the online business. Keeping up with technology As internet business gathers pace, most businesses in competitive markets are facing up to the challenges of whether to go online, what to do, when to do it and how. Technological change has always been with us. Without it, there would have been no progress at all. Our own economy has evolved from agriculture to manufacturing, and in recent times to service. These days we are evolving into a digital economy in which change is accelerating at a quicker pace than ever before.
