The revelations that Muhammad received are now considered to pivotal text included within the Islamic Qur’an (Islamic bible). It is important to note when trying to understand Islam, that around 631 A.D. Muhammad was able to enter into the city of Mecca and convert all the Arabic tribes to Islam. Islam and Christianity are similar in many ways, however the main difference in the religions lies in their beliefs that God is singular, Jesus was just a prophet, Jesus was not crucified, heaven can be obtained by the works of man (doing good deeds, or bad deeds), and the concept of Trinity is unconceivable. Muslims believe that Allah will judge everyone in the afterlife based on whether or not they had a good belief system, and whether they fulfilled their obligations to Islam. The principal beliefs of Christianity are highlighted in the Ten Commandments, the Nicene Creed, the Beatitudes and the Golden Rule. The principal beliefs of Christianity are influenced by Judaism. As a monotheistic religion, adherents believe there is strictly only one God, originating from the Jewish YHWH. Christians believe that God is the Trinity, meaning one being of three co-equal persons – the Father who is the creator and sustainer of all life, the Son who is the redeemer, and the Holy Spirit which is the sanctifier. Christians believe that God created the world and all that is in it.
This intended that he was the divine Son of God and recognised as being ‘one with the Father’. Christian adherents believe of the divinity through the birth of Virgin Mary and the Son of God. Shown in the scripture passage Matthew 1:16, “and to Jacob was born Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ”, this can explicitly identify the Virgin birth, thus showing divinity. He was recognised as being human, living with normal human restrictions and sufferings however; was considered Son of God as his life, death and resurrection plays importance in humanity. Through the divinity and humanity of the Christ, Christians and believers share the stories through word of mouth.
Jesus is acknowledged by the Islamic faith as a prophet. They do not believe that Jesus was executed, but rather taken away from the situation by God, or Allah, before any harm was done. The crucifixion and resurrection are not part of their texts. Now, because of the opposing views on the two different religions, Muslims and Christians have been in disagreement for many, many years. The main disagreement being that Christians believe that all men are created equal and Muslims believe that they are the chosen ones and all others are considered infidels.

The terrorist attacks of September 11th not only brought Arabs to public attention, but also put them at risk and in danger of discrimination and prejudice. Still to this day discrimination is present throughout the U.S. many Arabs dress differently than do other Americans; their cuisine is drastically different and their traditions are different.
Four years after the terrorist attack on the U.S., Pipes points out that all 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Muslims stating that we’re still debating whether protecting the country or protecting civil liberties is more important. He says it does no one any good to pretend that the threat is other than what it really is, and the “real” threat to the United States is Islamic terrorism, with many other Americans feel the same way. A blog online discusses the issue of the importance on profiling Muslims with one American posting
