Microbiology 1 November 2007 Our Annual Camping Trip Camping is an adventure my family enjoys every summer. Last summer we packed the Jeep full of equipment we needed and crammed in all the extra items we didn’t need. I, my husband, and our two children climbed into our Jeep Cherokee, and headed out for our annual summer excursion. When we finally arrived at the campground located in Oklahoma, we excitedly set up camp. Once everything had been set up, we laced up our hiking boots, and set out on our first hiking trip. My husband adamantly informed me, that I should be wearing long pants like the rest of the family. I was hot, and strongly refuted back; I was not going to wear pants. I then insisted I would be very careful as to where I was hiking. Besides I had a tick/sunscreen repellent on just like everyone else in the family. We had been hiking for about a mile, and then we came upon a stream of water. Since I was hot and had shorts on, I decided to wade in the stream. The rest of the family took a break as well. We finally decided to go back to the campsite to rest and eat. The rest of our trip was enjoyed to the fullest. We rode bikes, went canoeing, fishing and even toasted marshmallows. Just after three days of returning home, I was feeling terrible and noticed a rash on the palms of my hands, and the soles of my feet (Hoffman and LeGro 450). Later that night and into the next day, I began to experience a fever, muscle aches, and an awful headache. I called in sick to work, telling them I thought I had the Flu. I called my husband at work, and told him that I had made an emergency appointment with the doctor. He rushed home, and quickly took me to the family physician. Upon arrival, I was quickly sent to the examining room. The physician told me to describe the symptoms I had been experiencing. I told him I had a fever,
