2:14] and inwardly by the Holy Spirit [Rev. 22:17]. Those who refuse God's gracious call will be eternally held accountable for their refusal [John 12:48]. After one has answered the call to salvation and received Christ, God calls him to other callings which are moral in mature and affect a believer’s attitude and conduct. He has called believers to "fellowship with Christ,” to "holiness,” to "liberty,” to "peace,” and to "virtue".
By referring to Melchizedek as a King of Righteousness, it is evident that he had a spiritual image beyond human nature. Similarly, in his analysis of preserved documents about Melchizedek, Rainbow found that the only figure bearing the name Melchizedek was an exalted angel playing the role of a redeemer and judge, known as the Prince of light or the Archangel Michael. He describes Melchizedek as ‘anointed of the spirit’ and his key role was to bring favor to the righteous and vengeance to the wicked. This was a messianic message that advanced Melchizedek as a royal messiah; rather than a historic figure. There was no righteous human being except God alone and, therefore, Melchizedek would not have been a human being since he was called a King of righteousness.
Although fallen, we are still God’s image bearers, and mankind is still at the pinnacle of His creation. The prophet Daniel told the pagan king Belshazzar that God hold our very breath in his hand. If our very breath depends on God’s grace and mercy, then He is obviously still involved. He is not a God who is aloof from his creation. He still controls the rising and setting of the sun, the direction of the wind – the forces of nature are under His control, and He does with them what He pleases.
He is the creator of all that was, is and is yet to be and He created everything from nothing. Psalm 104:24 is a great example of His handiwork and the infinitesimal amount of them. In Isaiah 45:18, God completed the earth with the plan that he was going to place his children on to live in paradise for eternity. 2. The Question of Identity - When God created man, made as his children, he created man to shepherd over the earth and it's creatures as stated in Genesis 1:26.
Jesus came to this world Matthew 28:19 to tell us that we are free from sin, follow him, create other disciples and reign in the glory of God for eternity. Romans 3:23 says to follow the commandments, Mark 7:20-23 says to have good thoughts not to have immoral ones. Humans have morals built in them, they need to follow Jesus Christ and represent him. 5. The Question of Destiny- Christian’s belief that after death there is eternal Salvation through Jesus Christ or eternal damnation in hell.
God wants us to see the world the same way in so far as we can; but sin distorts our vision. For Catholics, the informed conscience is the highest moral authority. Our informed conscience with all the tools of discernment functions as a reliable compass to guide us in moral living. There are many good rules to live by but the main and most common rules to follow would be the Ten Commandments, Seven fatal or “seven deadly sins” both are rules that we should not do. The Church does provide rules in which one should follow, which are the works of mercy.
The Moral Dilemma of Religion and Politics Tanya Forbes SOC 315 August 15, 2011 The Moral Dilemma of Religion and Politics Within every culture and civilization there is a distinct and purposeful effort to define, divide, and identify one group of people from another. The methods are as old as time; as throughout history the means used to define a civilization’s identity were wrought through religion, language, culture, and governance. Understanding the events that took place which enabled America to become what it is, and discerning the religious underpinnings of our nation, we may ask if religion and politics is really a problem? What does separation of church and state really mean, and to what extent does it apply? Regardless of the argument for or against religion’s role in politics, it is clear they cannot be truly separated.
Convicted felons of the world today are not equally privileged as those who are not convicted felons. Many people believe that felons shouldn’t receive another chance due to the crimes that the individual have committed or been found guilty of. Whatever the situation may be, there should always be room for chances. God gives us chance after chance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Acts 13:38 (NIV) states “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.” This clearly supports the fact that we are human and are going to make mistakes and should be forgiven.
Christian Studies Essay Option #2 “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16 With reference to the quotation above, outline how Christianity presents the central problem for human existence and explain how this problem is addressed in Christian teaching and practice. Christianity believes that the main problem that comes with human existence is the sin people accumulate throughout their daily lives. This sin, which is attained through bad deeds and the falling short of god’s standards, is the main issue in human existence as it not only creates problems in this life but can also create separation from god and eternal
Naturalist do not believe in more than just matter, they look at things as if I cannot see it then it is not there. However, as a Christians, I believe in more and I know our God is out there helping us through our lives. Naturalist look at us as machines that all of our emotions and such are just reactions in our brains, but Christians believe that everything we do is the creation of God. Secular humanist and Christians are so different I use my religion to help stay in line. Secular humanist feel that religion is really a negative thing because it gives you rules to follow therefore you never really follow your deepest desires.
