Organizational Behavior CJA/444 May 14, 2015 Organizational Behavior Inside the Criminal Justice organizations, leaders in management focus on organizational behaviors as part of the criminal justice system (Peak, 2011). Organizational behavior is a field study that interacts within police agencies with employee’s behavior and the environment (Robbins & Judge, 2013). Many subjects include in organizational behavior such as, communication, psychology, and sociology, and management. The purpose and focus of criminal justice leaders is to expand the organizational behavior study within the workplace. The topics that will be discussed are the approaches to managing organizational changes and identifying observable aspects of organizational culture behaviors (Robbins & Judge, 2013). What Social, Political, and Organizational Behavior can Influence Change in Criminal Justice Agencies? In the criminal justice field, technology has taken over many sections within police agencies. In some instances, technology has filled job positions and caused for internal layoffs of staff. The barriers that come along can have a cause and effect on how the criminal justice field interprets what to do next (Schmallager, 2011). For police agencies to keep up with society changes socially, politically and with organizational behavior is a vital part of the criminal justice system (Robbins & Judge, 2013). According to Schmallager, F. (2011), by the year of 2020 there will be more women and minorities working for the criminal justice system. On the other hand, if a police organization has political behavior changes this could be a problem (Robbins & Judge, 2013). For example, if you have predominately Muslim neighborhoods they seem to be a target for ridicule, prejudice, because of the 9-11 attacks at the World Trade Center and police agencies had a
