To me, the admirable person means someone who has made a positive impact on my life and whom I want to emulate. Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful and admirable women in the USA. I also admire and respect her. She is well known as the host of The Oprah Winfrey Show. When I first watched the show, I had no idea about her life. So I was totally shocked after I heard about her childhood. Her childhood was quite different from a glamorous life of her now. Although she has been confronted with difficulties, she has persevered and overcome hardships and achieved success in life. Oprah Winfrey went through various difficulties in her early life. She was born to a single mother without father, and she lived with her mother. Her mother was poor, black and fat. At six, she suffered from physical and mental abuse by her mother. Unfortunately, she was raped by her uncle and gave birth to a baby when she was only 14 years old. Two weeks later, the baby died. But she is an undaunted and courageous woman. She overcame these sufferings in her adolescence. These hard and difficult experiences made her strong. She doesn't live now as she used to. Her life has changed now. She has become a famous a queen of talk shows and America's first black billionaire. After overcoming her difficult childhood, she has become one of the most influential people in the world. You know the Time Magazine. It's very famous. In 1998, the magazine made a survey who is the most influential people in the USA. And Oprah Winfrey was chosen by the magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People of the 20th century. Besides, she made her book club. Oprah book club
