The operational management report was carried out for Pashupati Casting Limited, to analyse the operational process of the specified company. In analyses author first research on the past, present and future tools of operational management. While researching author find wide range of range of tools. Author initially was confused which tools should to used in analysis of Pashupati casting ltd. Author then finally decide to use Six sigma, TQM and supply chain management tools. Six sigma will minimize the defects and Tqm will make the quality better whereas supply chain management will help Pashupati casting ltd in coming future. While selecting six sigma tools over Just in time (JIT) was bit difficult, these both tools are very handy in minimising defects. Author was impressed by success of Motorola, which apply six sigma approach and within two year of launching six sigma approach Motorola was honoured with Malcolm Baldrige Natioanl Quality Award. Therefore here author decide to see whether six sigma can be applied to pashupati casting ltd or not.
Before starting this assignment author thinks that quality can be achieved only by making product through best available technical machine, but after going through operational management module author realise that was not true. In fact quality can be achieved through people, raw material and services. While conducting research on the various tools, author comes to the limitation of TQM tool. Author realise that agility can be achieved through various technologies and KM is not the only one. In the coming years those organizations who are lean enough and capable of adapting new changes will do better.
