Major wildfires blaze across the country, putting towns, and hundreds of woodland homes at risk if a wildfire occurs near you, it may spread rapidly, and become a serious problem. If you are living or building on the edge of a wildland area, you need to prepare for the risk of wildfire. To better understand how to protect your home, it is important to know how fire behaves. Fire needs fuel and oxygen. To a wildfire, homes and other structures are forms of fuel, and the wind provides plenty of oxygen.
If a human inhales ground-level ozone it can cause chest pain, throat irritation, and congestion. It also affects the wild life as the animals that eat certain leaves and plant which can have problems producing food. Chlorofluorocarbons are normally found in Freon, halons, methyl bromide, methyl chloroform and carbon tetrachloride. The damage CFCs causes to our ozone layer is very dangerous especially since the ozone layer protects us from ultra violet radiation from the sun. If we continue to dispose of these chemicals in correctly it will continue hurt us especially by affecting the brain, eyes, heart, kidney and the reproductive system if large amount is exposed to
I have learned that the use of toxic chemicals during the fracking process and the occurring release of toxic chemicals and radioactive materials during well processing is bad for the environment. Such as, Naphthalene, Xylene, Toluene, Methylbenzene, and Formaldehyde, are all known or suspected to be human carcinogens (Schmidt). Also Hydraulic fracking hurts the environment by the contaminating the water wells, and springs, in which many humans and animals drink from. Another environment impact of hydraulic fracturing is air pollutions. Finally the way fracking impacted animal and human health.
A stomach bug introduced to a care home can quickly spread between residents and staff. This can cause more serious illness and can complicate other medical conditions. Good personal hygiene can greatly reduce the risk of spreading infection. Some basic principles are:- Wash your self regularly and wash your hair, do not wear personal jewelry, especially when undertaking personal care, keep you clothes and shoes clean, wash your hands regularly, wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing or smoking. Using PPE like gloves and aprons also helps reduce the spread of infection.
During the process of fighting fires there is alot to be aware of such as thick smoke. Smoke entering your lungs can be a huge risk when it comes to your cardiovascular health. However each firefighter is given a face mask to help you to breathe and protect your lungs from the smoke. How protective are these masks? Alot of the masks contain center ventilation orifice allowing easy air exchange and helps prevent buildup of CO2(the thick smoke created by fire).
Because they are hazardous. As in documentary they showed in an ad that fracking is safe. But what they mean by safe? If water, air and noise pollution are created by fracking then how it is safe! Fracking also created huge natural losses such as it crates pollution, destruction of forests to create its pipe lines.
Use of space impacting on emergency procedures Throughout the workplace there have been provided various facilities for the control of and response to fire such as in date fire extinguishers of the right type and quantity located near to an adequate number of signed fire exits. Although this in commendable fire provisions have been compromised by haphazard storage which has lead to blocked fire exits, obstructed fire extinguishers and inadequate internal directional signage. In the event of a fire each of these issues could lead to a loss of revenue due to stopped production etc and, more importantly, in the event a major fire, serious injury or death. Again these issues are not only a breach of some of the afore mentioned Acts and Regulations but also The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 which requires employers to assess the risk from fire and then take reasonable action to reduce the risk of fire starting and put in place procedures to ensure the safety of employees should a fire start. 3.
Haz Mat- Any substance or material could adversely affect the safety of the public, handlers or carriers during transportation. 1001- Acetylene; Extremely flammable gas and is unstable. as a precaution isolate the spill for at least a 100meters in all directions, and evacuate in a large spill or fire. First aide move victim to fresh air, give artificial respiration, administer o2, remove contaminated clothing. If contact was liquefied gas thaw the frozen parts with lukewarm water.
A dangerous cargo manifest is most commonly associated with which mode of transportation? (1 point) C. Water 19. What chemical agents primarily attack the airway and lungs, causing irritation of the entire airway from the nose to the lungs and resulting in what is commonly known as dry-land drowning? (1 point) C. Choking (CL) 20.Identify one of the difficulties of determining the specific names of hazardous materials in both facilities and transportation. (1 point) B. Placards or labels that are missing 21.Individuals should use the principles of __________, __________, and __________ to avoid chemical agents.
It is very corrosive and causes severe burns. It is very harmful by skin contact or by inhalation of dust. This cocktail together is used for getting into the ground and then it contributes to global climate change creating air pollution. They argue that fracking harms the environment and can hurt other living species such as bird, and fish. All of this is true; however, natural gas is a cleaner burning fuel and it has other advantages.
