The Function of IQA IQA is a process where the college/ training centre plans and prepares the quality assurance of the programs that they deliver. The program should be structured, monitored and all resources in place to carry out the monitoring. The monitoring will include all aspects of leaner’s journey including its planning, the delivery, assessments, reviewing and all record keeping. Once this process is complete, it is then reviewed and improvements made to the necessary areas for future IQA.
Internal Quality Assurance upholds the credibility of any assessment or qualification the organisation delivers. IQA ensures quality throughout the learner journey, ensures accuracy and consistency of decisions, manages risk, identifies issues/ trends, supports and develops assessors. The process ensures that the provision at the centre and subject level conforms to approved procedures and that consistency is being achieved within the institution. “Quality is the ‘degree of excellence of something’ Quality assurance is ‘a system of maintaining and improving standards” (p6 Level 3 & 4 Awards & Certificates in Assessment and Quality Assurance Qualification handbook for centres). The assessments are carried out formative, continuing checks throughout the learning, testing against previous marks and summative at the end of the course. This helps the learner see their own development and allows the assessor to give feedback. This allows the assessor to gain and measure the learner understanding of the subject against the outcomes set in the criteria. Throughout the assessments the assessor should ensure that their decisions are; fit for purpose, reflect the required standards and assessment criteria. Assessment decisions should be internally or externally verified, thus contributing to quality assurance and development of best practise.
Unlike high school, people are taught one specific area as their major. Ultimately, it would help to expand my knowledge as well to allow me to study what I really want. With increased knowledge, I can become more confident and my self-esteem would be much higher than before. As mentioned before, I choose to go to college for various reasons. One reason is to get a better job that requires more sophisacated skills.

According to Carr, “The Net commands our attention with far greater insistency than our television, or radio or morning newspaper ever did” (117). In today’s world, the internet has become essential to work, school and entertainment.
