Online Learning Compared to Campus Learning

Kimberly Dennis Professor Leann Gertsma ENC 1101-10 Composition I – 10 Many people fresh out of high school have this one thought on their mind. Whether they should go to college or not? They think if I do decide to go, what type of college would be best for me. There are two types of places. You have online campus and then you have campus that is on the ground. As serious and time sensitive as the issue of our education is, many people don’t go to college because they think they don’t have the means. Within the last 20 years, the work environment was going strong, online education has really helped many people capitalize on furthering there education. They are still able to work, pay their bills, and even have families. There are pro and cons to both classroom learning and learning online. You should weigh them however they best fit you. After all you want to go somewhere that will help you and make you happy. Some classroom cons would be nice to go over. You must travel to campus, even in bad weather. Always have to work at the same speed of the classroom. Online pros would be no time limit. You are allowed to do your work in the morning, at night whenever you feel like completing it. It’s convenient for those who work a full – time job and have children. Also there are online cons to think about. First it may be hard to express your thoughts, feelings, and opinions. When doing your email, discussion boards, or post they can become miss understood. The post you must read and do. Furthermore it’s difficult to form a real connection with your peers. Classroom pros would be face to face learning. Able to ask questions at that time, networking is easier. Today there is a lot of online degrees now that offer the same exact course work as a traditional classroom. I think that the choice of learning comes down to your personal preference.
