What are the common concerns regarding the level of education, the advantages and disadvantages of an accredited online degree programs? Distance learning, also known as On line learning offers fully accredited degree courses similar to that of traditional on campus learning. The course material is delivered in a non-traditionally manner to the students place of residence. The material can be provided in several methods such as videos, DVD, CD, audiotapes, and email, there is also a web-based delivery system which the student access through the Internet. With the online web based system the student can communicate with other students and the instructor on line. With the advancements in today's technologies the options continue to grow. There is no truth to the myth that distance learning is easier and takes less time and effort than traditional on campus education. In online distance learning and traditional on campus colleges the student must be dedicated to complete the assignments and on time. The largest advantage for online distance learning is the access of the course material, travel time, and the reduction of cost related to fuel consumption, housing costs and out-of-pocket expenses. Depending on the institute and program chosen online distance learning degrees are as valuable as traditional on campus degrees. In most cased the degree from a distance learning college looks identical to a degree from a traditional on Campus College.
