It seems like now a day the only thing people are concerned with is who they have a date with this week.   I think people rush into relationships so quickly because they are afraid of being alone.   I believe that is why people like online dating, they get that feeling of being wanted and needed by the people responding to their ads. Online dating is quick and easy with practically no work involved.   When searching the World Wide Web for a potential significant other people are taking a huge risk because they do not know the person on the other side of the computer screen.   You never know how things could turn out, you might end up marrying the person or on the other hand you might meet one night and never speak to them again.   Online dating is a major commitment that not everyone is willing to take.   Some people just want someone to talk to with no strings attached but other could be hearing wedding bells.
After reading two articles about online dating it was clear that there were many similarities and differences between the two.   The first article, Click Here for Romance, written by Jennifer Wolcott, states that when dating online you are getting “honest communication.”   The second article, You’ve got Romance!…, written by Bonnie Rothman Morris, cautions people to be careful and to learn a lot about who they’re dating online.   Wolcott, a writer for The Christian Science Monitor, might be more naïve when it comes to trusting people, after all she does write for a Christian magazine.   On the other hand, Morris, a journalist for the New York Times, is taught to always ask questions and to not always believe what people say.   The first article makes online dating sound so perfect when searching for true love because the actual couple being referred to in the article ended up getting married.   The second article actually told two different stories, one of which that the couple ended up getting married and the other did not have such a fairy tale ending.
