I viewed myself as a quitter or failure; I couldn’t finish something again. Then my second child came into the world, and I sat back and looked at my children, my family, and my friends that look up to me. How can they lookup to someone that couldn’t even finish her college classes? [INTRODUCING THE SUBJECT]So after many hours of consideration, I have decided to return to college in hopes to obtain my degree for several reasons. Even though returning to school will change many aspects in my family and my lives, I have chosen to return to school to finish what I started, to achieve my dreams, and to lead by example.
One of the many reasons why I came back was that I did not was to continue being in a factory the rest of my life. I saw all my co-workers who are older and I definitely didn't want to be an old factory worker. At my current job, there is always room to advance and move up in the company, so that is why I choose going to school for business management because I eventually want to be in the office. The most important reason why I decided to further my education is because I want to be a positive role model to my son Kaleb and show him that college is something you need to do to further your goals and accomplish dreams in life. Yes, I have had many obstacles that crossed my path but I want him to see that I didn’t just settle for less and that I am in charge of being able to accomplish my dreams and goals.
The obstacle is trying to keep my school on track to successfully completing my degree. I lost my job first of the year trying to find another job is very hard. And trying to keep up with bills with the little bit unemployment I do get it makes it very stressful to keep up with my school. Having time set aside to complete my assignments, before I lost my job it was little bit harder to do my homework since I lost my job makes it little easier having more time doing my assignments, but when I get another full-time job I would keep time setback for my homework. Completing my degree it helps me get more education and have more opportunities by having two degrees to get better income.
As a teenage mother I wanted to go into college knowing exactly what I wanted to do. I prayed about it, and after a couple months passed by, we noticed it was taking one of the lymph nodes in my neck was taking a while to go back down, after having strep throat. The doctor ordered an ultrasound. While I was patiently waiting for my name to be called back I began thinking about a career as a sonographer. Soon after we got there my name was called back.

Before I finished the high school, I started to work for a big tools company as a salesman helper (where I learned many new things). After one year I had, the opportunity to become a salesman. That job gave me many opportunities to continue studying because I had a flexible schedule. I finished high-school, and I drop out of school for two years because I liked to make money and I forget the school. Fortunately I changed my mind and went back to school to finish the university.
The more I know the better opportunities will come my way in the future. I am looking forward to become successful in life, because of Bishop Noll’s preparation & standards. I cannot wait to finally graduate with a diploma in my hand from all my hard work, and say I graduated from Bishop Noll Institute with an enormous sense of pride. Bishop Noll has made me realize, growing up is not always easy, but it’s an adventure to figure yourself out. So far, I already know my faith in God will forever be in my heart, I also know my passion for dance is forever, Bishop Noll has not only challenge me academically but in my extracurricular activates, like dance.
Passion is contagious! Work hard and Smart Hard working brings excellent results. See around and you will find out that people who work hard and smart are usually very successful!
I tried college right after high school but dropped out because I felt like I was wasting time and money. I told myself that when I decided what to major in I would go back and get my degree. I have been working as the office manager of a long term care facility and realized that my career path has reached its max potential with out a degree. My experience working with the accounts receivable and accounts payable and monitoring the financial process of a business has awakened my desire for more out of my career. At this point in my life I would love to move into the corporate level but need the college degree to do so.
One of the things I’m kind of nervous about is the money issue, I’m going to have to get a job so that I can afford food and clothes and all the school costs next year. I’m especially going to miss my friends next year, and being able to see everyone all the time.” I really agreed with David on just about everything he said, I will also be attending a Mankato school at South Central College so I will be able to see David quite often which will be nice. I then caught up to my friend Sam Anderson and asked him about his feeling for graduation. “Sam, are you nervous about graduating? And do you think you will miss high school?
