We have to realize that they are the ones in pain and that they are just prolonging what they know is going to happen. By prolonging their death just makes it that much harder to deal with. The way he didn’t give up when he did not have to positive encouragement from his community is another reason why this piece stood out to me. It told me that even though that everyone will not be on the same page as you but you should not give up because you are making it count to not only you but someone else that may look up to you. Before I read the book, I could have been overdramatic and reacted theatrically to what now seems as silly happenings and consider myself to have a difficult life. Although I know my life is not perfect, I now regard my family and home life as the life I would chose to live over any other. The thankfulness this book has rooted in me has forever changed my life. In actuality, creating a fiction setting where life is perfect will do no good because the world of work, sadness, poverty and violence; the real world, will catch up. Sadly, ingenuity is not the savior to ones problems, but hard work and determination upon ones self is. Many believe if you can dream it, you can achieve it, which is true. But dreaming without an action plan, as Teddy did will not fix anything; only make things worse. Picture a scenario where two parents/guardians are irritated with the decision of their child.

We cannot force happiness in our consciousness. Recognize that we cannot be always happy is a big challenge because it means that we have to give space in our life to sadness as well. We would not expect us to feel happiness after we lost a relative. Although the psychological immune system engages immediately (we will never see our relative again!) by trying to explain the phenomenon, it takes time in the consciousness to adapt to the positive idea (He is going off to a better place), relieving us from that unhappy condition in which we encounter.

This proves my thesis because we can see that he expects a lot of Daisy. Sadly enough, the author of this preposterous, and absurd essay could not find another quote to support this ideal. Although with some critical thinking he did find out more reasons that show that why what Gatsby expects of Daisy is too much. Though Gatsby is correct in his guess that Daisy still shares the old love that he feels, he is wrong to assume that she feels the same way about the reality of their history.
