Link refers to his origin as "up north" to avoid revealing his birth place. After a few bad days of being homeless he meets Ginger, a streetwise person who has been homeless for quite some time. But Link does not trust him entirely, because every time, when Ginger leaves him, Link feels scared and guesses that Ginger goes to his real mates. Shelter Shelter is a former sergeant-major who is on a mission to kill all of the homeless people of London, because they he considers they 'make the place look untidy.' He means too that there is nobody who does anything against them.

After Jefferson has been sentenced to death by execution, his godmother, Miss Emma, requests that Grant Wiggins teaches him to be a man before he dies instead of allowing him to die as a hog-which is what Jefferson’s defense attorney refers to him as. Although Grant initially doesn’t want to help Jefferson, he gradually changes throughout this book and accomplishes his goal of transforming him into a man.
From the perspective of Larry’s mother and the women on the street, Larry’s drunkenness is not a positive thing and much disappointment and blame for this is put on Larry’s father and irresponsibility. The lives of the people in the town are basically jeopardized due to this yearly ritual, the “lottery”. The people of the town, are obsessed with tradition that they forget their purpose of action and the effects it may contain. “Although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original black box, they still remembered to use stones.” The Lottery, page 71 line 221. The villagers are blinded by tradition that they do not see the cause of their actions. Tradition and rituals are basically stoning a human to death and in this case Tessie Hutchinson who is chosen among the villagers.
The Loss of loved ones; loss of important family members and loss of friends resulting from irresponsible drunk drivers on the road are tragic and permanent. Drunk driving is like playing with fire because most of the time, the drunk drivers think they are suitable for driving. Unfortunately, the liquor already affects their minds, they do not care about themselves and other people’s lives, and that is not only selfish but a deadly combination. You have no right to let anyone else suffer from the consequence of your action especially innocent bystanders and their loved ones. One of the biggest causes of drunk driving is the person who hasn’t adequately prepared for the situation.
No one really cared about him, so he built up walls with drinking and now Katniss and Peeta break them down and help him. On the train ride over to the capitol he is drunk when he should be giving advice to his tributes on how to stay alive in the games. Once he realizes they had a fighting chance this year and were not automatically written off as usual, he managed to focus on helping them instead of drinking. This helps Haymitch by giving him something to focus on as well as focusing on people who care for him. In the film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire his drinking is not as prevalent because he now has Katniss and Peeta who care enough about him to try and help him stay sober.

On July 24th, 6:03 A.M. Michael commited suicide as he was to overwhelmed with guilt. His constant bleeding symbolized that the remorse of living in the cruel time period and the loss of his brother is causing a strain and slowly killing him.
But after a couple of years Greg felt bad for what he dad, one family member visited him to tell him about how is dad did love him. That is dad always brag about Greg to his Uncle, just was to scared and shy to show Greg how much he actually meant to him. He subscribed that the night he killed his parents that his dad took his old guitar, tried teaching him the chords to his old bluegrass song. They all sat together and started singing, so the reporter was confused on why Greg still wanted to kill his parents because of how great of a night they had. Ed, after realizing Chris had read the letters, tells Chris not only that he lied about his mother’s death, but that he was also the one who killed Wellington after a fight with Ms. Shears!
It’s about a man from Samaria who saw a man beaten up and robbed lying on the side of the road. He went over to him and took care of him and paid for him to be looked after in a local inn. In society these days’ people aren’t encouraged to help one another as there are too many technicalities involved such as suing and liabilities. For instance if there was a car accident and someone stopped and tried to help them and the person in the accident died in the process the family could blame that person and sue them for causing the death even though they were only trying to be a good Samaritan. This makes people afraid and cautious to do the right thing and help others out as they are too worried about the safety of themselves, making them like the priest and Levi turning their backs to someone in need of help.
