Oliver Twist Oliver Twist was written by Charles Dickens. The main thesis of this book is. The antagonists in it are Fagin, Monks, the Victorian Society, and Bill Sikes. The protagonist is Oliver Twist. Some of the supporting characters are Mrs. Mann, Susan, Mr. & Mrs. Sowerberry, Charlotte, Dick, and Bet. The setting was in the 1830’s. It had all of the types of conflicts in it. It was Man vs. Society when he was judged by the way he looked, man vs. nature because he was always facing a life or death situation, and man vs. man when he fought with Beadle. The point of view the story was told was in third person omniscient. I agree with how the book views the world. The book shows the good and the bad in the world, but it focuses more on the bad. Good is also shown by Nancy telling Bill Sikes that he would have to go through her if he wants to attack Oliver with his dog, and even though Bill threatened her, she didn’t move. I felt what he felt whenever something bad/good would happen to him. The book addressed poverty, which I personally care about because I think it shouldn’t exist. Other than that, the book doesn’t really address things that I consider important to the world. It also doesn’t
