Joshua was one of the 12 that was sent out to spy out the land of cannon. In the book of Joshua we see that he was leader material and he chose to follow God, not just him but his entire household Joshua 1:8. Joshua has shown time and time again that he could be trusted by the Lord God. 1.02 Monotheistic Religions In what ways is the Holy Land an important site for all three monotheistic faiths? The Holy land is important to members of the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic religion because they have lived on the Holy land for generations and have important religious sites located here. The land is holy for Christians because this was where God’s son Jesus was born, crucified and where he resurrected from the dead. For Jews, it contains many Jewish synagogues and this land was promised to them by Yahweh. After a number of Jews were enslaved in Egypt and once freed, Moses helped them escape through the dessert and after over 40 years of traveling in the dessert they finally made it to the promise land by Yahweh which was Canaan.
One of the commandments are not to worship any false idols (none of any kind). Moses was angered by the people's lack of faith in God and threw the Ten Commandments breaking them at a golden calf they chose to worship rather than God. Moses asked God to forgive His people. God forgave them, and returned the Ten Commandments. God told Moses to continue to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land that he had promised to the great leaders before him.
This journey is one of realisation and the pathway to maturity. This can be discussed in many different scenes from the movie. The most important thing to pete during the journey are his spiritual beliefs and ways learnt from his grandfather Jubbi. Before the journey pete was just a young boy, messing around with his best friend kalmain, believing his grandfathers 'old' ways were useless, and thinking he could look after himself but couldn't. The journey put pete into realisation that everything his grandfather had taught him had saved his and kalmains life.
Was something wrong with the first covenant? Yes, “God found fault with the people” (Hebrews 8:8). “For they broke the covenant by whoring after the gods of stranger of the land, where ever they went and forsake God and in that day He (God) will become angry with them and forsake them”. (Deuteronomy 31:16-18) The people were unable to obey the laws — and since the blessings were conditional on the Israelites’ obedience, the covenant was
Abrahamic Covenant Chart In Genesis 12 we find the first instance and introduction of the Covenant established by God and Abraham. It is here that God favors Abraham by pledging to make him a great nation, to bless him, and to make his name great. Form this passage through the following chapters in the Book of Genesis we observe the authenticity of the promise. Also, from this passage on throughout the Book of Genesis, we find that the promise is often challenged, yet it remained secure and unconditional. At first glance, one may doubt the fulfillment of the promise due to unfavorable occurrences.
John didn’t want to be named a liar, he admitted to committing adultery, and the last thing he wanted was his name nailed on the church’s wall because he signed a lie. John Proctor sacrificed his soul because he knew he couldn’t have another name. “Because it is my name. Because I cannot have another in my life, because I lie and sign my name to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of those that hang!
2.1 Career You can't adequately sum up Abraham's career in a single paragraph, but for the sake of perspective, here's an attempt: Abraham was a semi-nomadic shepherd to whom God revealed himself, made promises, and entered into covenant concerning Abraham's offspring and the land that they would inherit in the future. Abraham's belief in these promises was counted by God as righteousness and his faith shaped his life. Ultimately these promises find their fulfillment in Jesus the Messiah and all those who trust in Yahweh, the true God, Abraham's spiritual children. Abraham was called both a Hebrew (14:13) and an Aramean (Deuteronomy 26:5; cf. 25:20; 28:5; 31:20, 24).
In other words, he said, “We can do it!” He had faith in what God could do. Joshua was truly humble. Before the death of Moses, again and again Moses would say to the people, “Encourage Joshua.” This meant that Joshua needed the people. He never rose above the people in his need for them. Five Leadership qualities in Joshua Humility.
Because of the faithfulness and obedience he has shown, God delegated him with this incredible mission. In Genesis 12: 1 – 3, Abraham was told to leave his family, his country and to go to the place where God would show him and made of him nations. In chapter 15, Abraham has had an encouraging vision and was told,' do not be afraid'. Again in chapter 17, God told Abraham to walk before him faithfully since he would make his covenant with him. God promised that Abraham will be the father of great nations and an everlasting covenant will establish with his descendant and Kings will come from him.
