The report will be on O.J. Simpson’s murder case. People were enjoying an NBA basketball finals series between the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets in 1994, when all of a sudden a news report came on. 95 million Americans were viewing O.J. Simpson slowly being chased by cops. Initially, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were found dead outside of Nicole’s condominium in Los Angeles, California. Evidence that was found led police to suspect O.J. Simpson was the murderer. O.J. Simpson was a star- He was a great football player, a successful Hollywood actor, and he had fame and fortune. The prosecution elected to seek a life sentence. The whole trial was televised by Court TV. It all started up with the prosecution playing a 9-1-1 call where Nicole feared that O.J. would hurt her. He was heard yelling in the background. The call was made on January 1, 1989. The prosecution spent the initial times on O.J.’s history of physically harassing Nicole. Fuhrman was questioned to see if he was racist. He was asked if he had used the word “nigger.” He said he didn’t use it in 10 years. Witnesses established the Fuhrman used the word “nigger” 9 ½ years prior to that. There was an audiotape where Fuhrman was training a female officer which had him say nigger many times in the conversation. The tape indeed was enough to convince anyone who was watching the trial that Fuhrman was racist. He was contradicted and it was definitely a blow for the prosecutors because now there was question of whether the matching glove was planted from racist motivation. In addition, O.J. Simpson was asked to put on the glove that was used at the murder scene. He put it on, with much difficulty. It did not fit.
