Goals and Achievement for PRO term Service term has ended, and with this block leave ending, marks the beginning of professional term in my officer cadet journey. In professional term, there are many exercises to complete, before embarking on Brunei trip where the renowned Jungle Confidence Course awaits, there are several exercises, all packed into a few weeks. This already sets the pace of professional term, and it definitely would not be like in service term. The journey is going to get tougher, and I don’t quite know what to expect in the upcoming 6 months. First and foremost, I am not cleared for Jungle Confidence Course because I am awaiting a specialist appointment at Singapore General Hospital for my back aches. This same appointment decides whether I can remain in course, therefore my officer cadet journey seems rather uncertain at this moment of time. However, if I managed to remain in course, I would definitely want to achieve the Jungle Confidence Course badge, that is the pride of an infantry officer after all, since I am a infantry officer. The Jungle Confidence Course is also more than a course to complete, but an experience to go through. We never really know what it is all about until we ourselves step foot into it, likewise of this course. All we ever hear were the ramblings from people both with and without the badge, but we never truly learn and understand until experiencing it firsthand. Another key aspect of being an officer cadet, especially an infantry officer cadet, is self preservation. I do not have a fit and strong body to confidently rely on, and it is only wise to ensure no harm or injuries come upon me that I may truly regret in time to come. Last but certainly not the least, I hope that my platoon will bond better, and its nothing to be proud of to mention the punishments that we got, it is the camaraderie forged through good
