The information will help me get through my school and finish assignments on time. Also it will help me manage my time and stay on top of all of my classes. Getting through my first year at college will be hard but if I stay organized and focused I will reach my goals and succeed. To be a better student I need to seek extra help and use the resources on campus more often. I need to set goals in each one of my classes and stay focused and put my school work first.
Therefore, the purpose of assessment in support of planned curriculum is to help build on children’s strengths and weaknesses and aid in continued growth and learning. Furthermore, assessments illustrate that children have actually gained knowledge and skill from planned learning experiences. Even more, they exhibit the children’s ideas and attitudes towards their experiences. The teacher sent home picture cards for the children to continue working on rhyming at home and suggested several rhyming read aloud books for parents to read to their child at
It means that students can take responsibility for some of their own progression. Students can ask themselves what am I learning and how can I do it better. Giving students constructive feedback will allow them to recognise how they can progress and achieve the next step in their learning. Having confidence that all students can improve. Both the teacher and student are involved in the reviewing process and can reflect on the assessment information.
As I sit and think about it I recall learning more by experience. School for me set the foundation to learn, but I learned the most by making mistakes and seeing things for myself. Life is the biggest factor of learning in my opinion. Some may think school or their career teaches them more. But life lessons are the best and factor into your future lessons.
Fortunately, most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling; from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for future actions. Observational learning is when learning happens by observing other people’s actions. Observational learning involves cognitive processes such as attention, motor skills, motivation, and memory. For observational learning to take place the person who is observing the behavior needs to be paying attention to it in order to learn it. Another important
Sometimes I try to switch it up to reading and watching, but I always seem to fail at that. So now I go hands on as often as possible and work with physical objects or any activity. A good example of learning through this style is in order for me to learn a new a new item or any new equipment that I have to learn, I pretty much play around with the item until I know that I am ok with it or I have full knowledge of how it works or how to work it. I might apply my own learning style to study through this course and the program. I think it will be better for me so that I won’t get confused by switching to a different learning style.
Social Cognitive * Affective learning processes Self regulated learning tends to be influenced by an individual’s emotions, behaviors, and their cognitive processing (Schunk & Zimmerman, 1997). This is a process that will orient the individual in achieving their goals by self generating (Schunk & Zimmerman, 1997). Schunk and Zimmerman (1997) stated that the self regulated learning process can also be considered as an academic self regulation process which has been studied over the years throughout different classrooms. The students taking the course learn how to use motivation, cognition, and behavior to improve their learning skills. These students who use motivational beliefs also utilize more self regulation learning skills (Schunk & Zimmerman, 1997).
The reason I choose to continue my education is because I felt it was time for me the receive an education so that I could look back and tell myself I did something worthwhile! I’m always stressing to young Soldiers that they need an education and not to waste their time doing nothing, to do something with their time and make it worthwhile not to just be sitting around and playing video games so I took my own advice and decide to do something to where I can say I accomplished something! I have a few learning styles that I knew I had but wasn’t sure if this was what I was using and after doing the tests and learned that I was. My first one is Visual (Spatial) Learning Style which explains that I like using images, pictures, and colors to organize information which is so true because do like thoughts things to help me explain something to someone! I know I learned that from being in the military!
These courses allowed me to be taught by actual elementary school teachers, who have years of experience with working with children, and the knowledge and advice they were able to pass on truly helped me better understand what I was signing up for as an education major, and helped my improve the way I teach so that I could articulate in a way that would be comprehensible to students of a young age. These classes are slowly molding me to become a great teacher. Also, I am doubling majoring in psychology in hopes that it will help me to better understand the mentality of special education students, so that in the future I will be able to teach them in a way that they will be able to grasp. Psychology courses have
In this essay you will see my findings on my particular learning style, personality type, and how I can now benefit by knowing this and how to expand my knowledge in implementing other way of learning. “Overall, learning is a blend of various styles.” (Pheifer, 2009). I discovered that my style of learning is that I am a visual learner! This came as a surprise to me since I always thought of myself as a hands on learner. Although in reflecting on this for a bit I realize that I do visualize and retain more information by reading and studying material, not just the hands on approach.
