Despite, helping people who are ill, I enjoy taking time out to caring for people. I am concern, understanding and dedicated to my patients that might need a helping hand. As a care provider, I have a lot of patience and I’m very comfortable with the work environment. I’ve been in the nurse profession over ten years working as a nurse assistant. Now I decided to go back to college and get my degree in nursing, so I can be more involved and have a closer relationship with my patients. Nursing is a healthcare profession that involves taking care of others in which a person needs formal education, training, and also has an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Nurses help individuals, families to achieve health and prevent diseases and they care for sick and injured using procedures based on knowledge, skills and experience. Nurses are found working in hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, in physician’s offices, in private homes and schools. In hospital’s nurses work under the direct supervision of nursing departments and in collaboration with physicians. They may be assigned to general, operating rooms or maternity wards. Nurses may also work with children, in emergency rooms, intensive care units or outpatient clinics. In the nursing profession, there is always a shortage, but in the next upcoming years to come. The nursing shortage will increase rapidly than ever. According to the US Labor Department, in the years between 2008 through 2018, the nursing field is expected to need 582,000 more positions, which is more than any other profession field.
