Her ambition to live a better life was sparked by the hardships she encountered, and planted in her mind as she endeavored to do her best at work. Years later, Asha married an alcoholic man with little ambition and then started her life in a slum near Mumbai called Annawadi, a place full of poor scavengers that lived in little huts with small incomes from trash picking. Perspective on Health Care HCS 212 February 13, 201 Perspective on Health Care When asked what interests me about the history of health care I would answer with the statement: possessing the knowledge of personal health information to make informed choices about my health and the health of those close to me. Staying informed on health topics and health challenges make me a better woman, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and one day soon a health care service worker. Having information on health care will enhance my level of communication when I enter the field, but also make me better able to interact with my doctor and other health care professionals on my health. Often my interest in health care is driven by staying current on health issues to maintain the quality of my life or to learn about conditions to help those around me. Having lost a close friend way to young, I am determined to live a healthy, full, and meaningful life.

I think that she could've left for three reasons; Her childhood was not good, her father was an alcoholic and treated both Eveline and her mother with disrespect and cruelty, as well as her being forced to take care of the family when her mother died. My first reason that Eveline could've left was because of her terrible childhood. In the story Eveline is described as poor and probably does not have a very comfortable life. Eveline's struggle for money is constantly mentioned in the story. There are very specific details that show how miserable her life is.

Health Promotion in Nursing There are various definitions that apply to health promotion. Health promotion can be “the science and art of helping people change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health.” (Edelman, 2014, p. 12). According to Edelman there happens to be a more complex definition that was commissioned by the U.S. Public Health Service stating health promotion is ““the process of advocating health in order to enhance the probability that personal (individual, family, and community), private (professional and business), and public (federal, state, and local government) support of positive health practices will become a societal norm” (Edelman, 2014, p. 12). Health promotion applied in nursing practice is vital for patients. Nurses apply health promotion everyday to their patients wither they realize it or not.
