1. Application- (skip) 2. Unshielded Twisted Pair- The most common type of copper wiring used today. Can be used for computer to communications or telephones. 3. Shielded Twisted Pair- An outer covering is added to the normal twisted pair to serve as a ground. 4. Fiber-Optic Cable- A type of cabling consisting of thin glass filaments used to carry light. These type of cables are less susceptible to noise and interference than other mediums but are also much more fragile so they are typically placed underground making them difficult and expensive to install and maintain. 5.
