Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman is about a 14 year old girl who's father, the lord, wants to marry her off to a rich old man with lots of land. Catherine wants to just get away from the lady life and escape, but is always held in place by her pregnant mother, and her always nagging nurse/maid Morwenna. In Catherine, Called Birdy, many women gave Birdy advice but she never really listenened to them, but when she did, she made a decision that changed her life forever.
Don’t Judge a girl by Her Cover In the beginning of, Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover, by Ally Carter, Cammie is visiting her friend in Boston. Her friends name is Macey. Macey is the daughter of the nomination for vice president of the United States. Macey and Cammie help campaign trail to get votes for her father's vice-presidential campaign. While Cammie is there, she, Macey and Preston, who is the son of the presidential candidate, are attacked on a rooftop.
The movie illustrates complex plotting, including reversal and recognition with all the characters. In the movie Uncle Buck, shows the opposite of catastrophe for the good in the beginning of the movie. Uncle Buck seems to be living the life, going to horse races to gamble, having a girl that he is not committed to, a job that he does not go to everyday and he does not have kids to watch everyday. Uncle Buck seems to have the life that other people want. Uncle Buck’s lifestyle soon changes when he realizes what a family is when he has to watch his brother’s kids for the week.
Maggie’s mother was also older and better suited to be a mother because she was older and more experienced however, Maggie’s father also left the family. Maggie turned out to be shy and refrained from social life since she did not leave the house after being burned. “She stoops down quickly and lines up picture after picture of me sitting in front of the house with Maggie cowering behind me” (Walker 746). Too much attention leads to Maggie clinging to her mother and not enough attention drives Emily to not seek out a close relationship with her mother. Both mothers are concerned with the status of their daughters.
The reason he doesn’t go is because that is the day he visits his mother in the home she lives in, and she would never understand if he changed the day and would pick on him even more than usual. He would love to go out with them on another night but fear that, if he asks, they will say no. He would love the manager’s job because then his mother would see him as more successful and maybe give him more respect. He has a sort of girlfriend whom he would like to marry but feels he does not have much to offer her at present and anyway she might say ‘no’. He comes across as a gentle man who is very aware of the feelings of others and afraid of what they might think of him.
Communication is first step of living in a new culture, by looking through Coffers’ mother, she fears joining the American culture, because communication is the way to create culture and she is afraid to learn it. But the satirical thing is Coffer thinks she is a real American, and not a Puerto Rican, she even feels shame to speak Spanish. It is a serious problem for new generations to realize what is right for us to changing and assimilating what is wrong for us to make a self examination. Between dual cultures there have many concepts for difference generation to comparing and learning. Coffer’s father whom decided to leave their home from Puerto Rico to United Stat for making their future better by have a well paying job
There are very specific details that show how miserable her life is. For example, "Besides, the invariable squabble for money on Saturday nights had begun to weary her unspeakably” (Paragraph 5, line 11). Her father would never give her money so she always gave all of her money and Harry sent what he could as well just to help. Her father said she used to squander the money and that he wasn’t going to give her his hard-earned money to throw about the streets. In the end, he would give her the money because he wanted Sunday’s dinner.

Eleanor tries to hide from Richie, her awful step dad at Park’s house but Park’s mother doesn’t seem to accept Eleanor until she learns about her home life and from then on Park’s parents are supportive and caring to Eleanor. After an amazing first formal date together, Eleanor comes home hoping Richie doesn’t know about Park. This is her worst nightmare, Richie found out and to top that Eleanor finds out that Richie was the one writing the obscene, sexual comments on her textbooks. Scared for her life, Eleanor runs to Park’s house and he drives her to her uncle in Minnesota. Once they arrive to her uncle’s, they come to the fact that they have to say goodbye.
Leanne takes Michael in without any of her families’ permission and she buys him all these clothes and Leanne’s husband isn’t all that happy about the choice she makes which brings conflict between the pair. They overcome this because their relationship with each other is really close and they realise the errors they have both made. Misunderstandings of expectations that individuals place on others can lead to conflict. In some family circumstances there are believed expectations placed on the individuals to do certain things. In The Blind Side, there is believed expectation that Leanne and her husband want all their children to participate in some kind of physical activity.
