The Responsibility Project: No Phone Zone Day The video estimates that 812,000 people use mobile devices while driving, 5,870 people have been killed while 515,000 people have been injured due to distracted drivers. This is an ethical issue that is growing and caused many people to take a stand in April of 2010 to form a day called No Phone Zone Day. Using a Cell phone while driving is a very ethical issue while also it is becoming a very large and talked about legal issue. Furthermore speaking on a cell phone while driving has become an absolute no issue for most business while an employee is on duty and doing the work of the business as it can cause an accident that is the companies liability to cover. Through awareness and support ethical principles can be used to address many different organizational issues. The reason it is relevant to organizational decisions because law enforcement organizations have to decide what punishments and measures of control to put in place in efforts of eliminating or minimizing the issue. It is relevant to personal decisions because people have to decide whether they are willing to take the risk and if they are caught whether the potential consequences are worth the risk. The relationship between legal aspects, and the ethical aspects of using a cell phone while driving is consequences. Legally the consequences of using a cell phone while driving are traffic tickets, fines, and jail time depending on the severity. Ethically the consequences of using a cell phone while driving are guilt, and embarrassment depending on the circumstances.
