Education: President Nixon completed his undergraduate degree at Whittier College, and then graduated from Duke University School of Law in 1937, returning to California to practice law. B. Occupation: Nixon went back to California and applied to be part of the FBI, but he received no response, so he worked at a law firm in Whittier, California. After marriage, Nixon moved to Washington D.C. and worked at the Office of Price Admission. In August 1942, Nixon was drafted into the U.S. Army and received multiple jobs at different military installations in the United States. Nixon joined HUAC, (House Un-American Activities Committee) breaking the Alger Hiss Spy Case. Nixon ran for the U.S. Senate and won, and then became vice president of Dwight David Eisenhower. He ran for president after Eisenhower’s term and lost to John F. Kennedy. IV. Presidential Term (1969-1974) V. Issues during Nixon’s Elections A. Eisenhower-Nixon administration was accused by Kennedy as allowing the Soviets to lead us in the ballistic missile race B. Accusations that called for vote fraud in some states C.
