Nike project General questions 1. In what major business segment(s) does Nike operate? It operates under the segments of sports and fitness footwear, apparel, and equipment. However, each of these segments is also classified and operates under geographic segments, which are strategically located around the world. 2. In what geographic segments does Nike operate? Previous geographic segments where, US., Europe, Middle East, and Africa. But as of June 1, 2009 the company recognized six geographic segments, which are: North America, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Greater China, Japan, and Emerging markets. 3. On which stock exchange is Nike traded? Is traded under the NYSE and its listed under the S&P 500 index. 4. What is an SEC Form 10-K? It’s an annual report form that is required by the SEC. The annual report on Form 10-K provides a comprehensive overview of the company's business and financial condition and includes audited financial statements. This form must be filled with in 90 days after the end of the company’s fiscal year. 5. What is an SEC Form 10-Q? It’s a quarterly report form that is required by the SEC. The Form 10-Q includes unaudited financial statements and provides a continuing view of the company's financial position during the year. This report must be filed for each of the first three fiscal quarters of the company's fiscal year. 6. Who is Nike’s auditor? PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, an independent registered public accounting firm, who audited (1) the consolidated financial statements and (2) the effectiveness of the internal control over financial reporting as of May 31, 2010. 7.
