New Moon New Moon , by Stephanie Myer is a sequel to her previous book Twilight. It is about a girl, Bella Swan, and a guy, Edward Cullen, who are in love. In the beginning their love is strong. It is Bella’s birthday and the Cullens have invited her over for a gathering. Next thing we know Edwards brother Jasper charges after Bella cuts her finger. From that point on Edward new that Bella’s life would be in danger if they kept seeing each other. So he told her things needed to end and that he and his family were moving away. He still loves her though. The next couple months Bella spent her time in her room…depressed as ever. She reconnected with her old pal Jacob, who is secretly in love with her, and a werewolf. Anyway Bella discovered that when she does stupid risky things she sees and here Edward. So she decides to jump off a cliff. Alice, Edwards’s sister sees this in her visions she gets. Except she figures that Bella is dead. Alice Tells Edward of the news and he is crushed, so much that he is going to reveal himself to the public (which is against vampires rules). Doing this will upset the head vampires, The Volturi, and he will be murdered. The end of course is happy. Bella catches Edward at the last moment after Alice informs her of the news. Edward promises never to leave her again and order is restored once again. The theme of this book is that true love can leave but it goes on forever. “Bella, I don’t want you to come with me.” He spoke the words slowly and precisely, his cold eyes on my face, watching as I absorbed what he was really saying. There was a pause as I repeated the words in my head a few times, sifting through them for their real intent. “You…don’t…want me?” I tried out the words, confused by the way they sounded, placed in that order.
