Customer Needs and Expectations In this report I will be describing the needs and expectations of the parent of a young child in the supermarket. Accuracy and Reliability:- In a Supermarket customers need to know the exact price of the products they are purchasing, this is called Product Accuracy. Customers also need products that will be reliable. Reliability in products for business, especially a Supermarket is crucial. Providing Information Advice and Assistance:- As it can be sometimes very difficult for the parent of a young child to go shopping, a supermarket must make sure all the customers’ needs including accurate information about the products are catered for. Products on the shelves should have labels listing the accurate prices and names and assistance should be on hand . Assistance should also be accurate and consistent and employees should be knowledgeable of all products. Customers also require advice about the products and also locating and retrieving the products. Customers Needs as a Parent:- There are many things that parents who are shopping need. The essentials are things like parking spaces, especially for families so they have more space either side of the car to allow the doors to open fully and which are also closer to the entrance that normal parking spaces; trolleys that have seats for babies and young children; toilets, which are clean and hygienic and have baby changing facilities and if it is a store over multiple floors lifts and escalators are a necessity Customer Expectations at a Supermarket Many of the customer expectations are the same as the needs in all retail stores because they link in with each other to provide top quality customer service.
