1. What resources and capabilities does Naver have that Google does not? The resources and capabilities that Naver has that Google does not, as Peng (2011) explains, are that Naver goes far beyond that of a search engine. In fact, Naver operates much like Yahoo in that it also serves as a portal, provides news and similar information, and offers discussion groups, email, stock market information, videos, restaurant reviews and so forth. Although it’s arguable that Google offers just as many similarities, Naver sets itself apart with five unique components that Google does not offer, specifically. First, Naver offers a portal site tailored to meet the needs of children titled “Naver Jr.” Naver Jr. is specifically designed for children and parents who wish to engage in the forum for various educational and extracurricular activities. Naver Jr. offers a virtual educational facility, an online arcade comprised of video games (most of which are education content oriented, a “Fun” section which allows kids to watch monitored television programs, videos and music, and a parents sections which helps provide activities and educational forums to keep moms and dads busy with their youngsters. Currently, Google does not offer anything designed specifically for children. Second, Naver offers a unique services titled “Knowledge-In.” This forum is very much like the ever popular Wikipedia as it’s created for the people by the people. If Knowledge-In is as remotely as popular as Wikipedia, it most certainly provides a heavy traffic load which also adds an advantage as being a resource on behalf of Naver. Next, Naver offer a system called N Drive, which is systematically very similar to cloud computing.
