Sarah Hughes British Writer’s 2/12/2012 Paper #1 Sidney-Nature and Art Poetry is a way to beautify the world. It enables people to express their view of nature, though it may differ from the reality of it. Poetry creates a vision for the reader to see when reading the writer’s prose; enabling the reader to picture what the poet is speaking of and describing. Nature is commonly used in order to express emotion, beauty, events and havens because it is so versatile. For example expressing one’s sadness in losing a loved one one could say, “My heart grew dark and empty, like a meadow before a storm and my tears overflowed like the stream that surrounded it”. Poetry can be very dramatic and help people express feelings that they may not have been able to put into words without using nature to describe the immensity of their feelings. Within the first two stanza’s he gives the reader a vision of the setting of his affections: COME live with me, and be my love; And we will all the pleasures prove That hills and valleys, dales and fields, Woods, or steepy mountain yields. And we will sit upon the rocks, Seeing the shepherds
